Somehow 2023 has flown by even faster than 2022 did! Yet here we are near the end of the year with 2024 looming just on the horizon. Whatever 2024 holds for us I hope we can get through it with some good reading together!

But what books?! Any books, you decide! So, if you would please submit to me four book recommendations. I will generate some lists and we will vote on them! Remember it can be any sort of genre, fiction or non-fiction. We have only one rule: No repeat authors from the previous year. And, one consideration: new books tend to be hard to source from the local library and many of our readers use theirs for copies.

2023 authors:
Taylor Jenkins Reid
Brandon Sanderson
Dashiell Hammett
Sylvia Plath
Carmen Maria Machado
Ursula K. Le Guin
Naomi Novik
Louise Penny
Mary Shelley
Brooke Bolander

Past years readings: 2021 here. 2022 here. And 2023 here.

Thanks! Also I think I'm going to leave my picks as-is. There are always more books and I could futz with the lists forever but going to stick with it.

I've created two lists from the nominations. I've created a poll here for folks to vote for the one they want. I tried to provide links to information about the books for people who wish to do research before voting.

Looking forward to reading with you all next year!

Argh, sorry I never came up with any nominations! The weekend got super busy and then it's been a tiring week. But I voted, at least!
