A (hopefully) weekly updating thing, here and on my Instagram account. Click the image to go to the direct link for that if you're inclined.

I know in broad strokes where I want this story to go, but haven't finagled all the minutia into the right places ahead of time. Trying to get all the little bits and details 100% locked in before I even start usually just....prevents me from ever starting anything in the first place. So I'm gonna fight that urge off the best I can and just go for it.

If all goes well, I'll see you here in a week with more.

Gravity is overrated.
That sure encapsulated a ton in so little a space with nice pencil art. I feel tired now, but in kind of a good "I know its not just me by any stretch of the imagination, but ugh its still nice see others like this..." way.

Thanks y’all. :D

“Ixo, ain’t this just the beginning of The Secret of the Unicorn?” No, shhh. I totally didn’t consider sneaking Tintin into the background, nope.

Front loading this thing with detailed establishing shots was a great idea from a motivation standpoint, lemme tell ya.

I feel like I'm right there. How big are these panels? There's so much detail fit into them!

(The techniques on display seem masterful-composition, rendering, pacing, damn, son)

2.5” squares. Small enough to fit all 9 panels on standard letter size pages. (Also small enough so I don’t go totally overboard with adding in all those details.) I’m using a Prismacolor .005 for the bulk of the inking.

And thank you!

So this morning I realized that I needed an entire page's worth of additional panels to happen before the page I had intended for today. Side effect of mostly winging it. Despite my best effort, I'm only at 6 out of the 9 after working at it all day. Page will probably be happening tomorrow instead.

Please look forward to it?

Sure. Decide while you’re on a tight deadline that you’re gonna draw three panels of bookshelf at three different angles. Why not. What could go wrong.

There is such a striking amount of detail in these drawings, it's insane!
No idea what's happening, but something about a guy who buys retro video games he already has somehow strikes a familiar chord with me.

Wow, the level of detail is incredible, and I really feel the emotion in this one.

A Sunday update because I had a big time sensitive thing this week that took priority. Please enjoy my genuine shock at this game’s price tag.

Due to an anticipated IRL schedule change, I’m bumping my posting day from Saturday to Sunday going forward. I’m going back to retail soon. Sunday evening will be the only consistent guaranteed time off, since the mall’s not open after 6 then. Instead of remembering to post on a lunch break or other schedule weirdness, I think it’s better to move the date instead of deal with all that.

And thanks for all your eyeballs on this! To answer the above, it’s auto-bio......sort of. ;)

each week I basically go back over all the previous panels, and this week I'm musing on "return to sender" and "did you find something to send"

Late post because bad time management skills. Some good faces in this one though.
