John le Carré has passed away, according to his publisher. Gonna reread Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy in his memory.

I particularly liked The Tailor of Panama film, which felt very much inspired by another great movie "Our Man in Havana". I was actually surprised that the character of Garak from DS9 isn't based on Panama, which was actually written a couple years after the character. All of the Le Carre I've read has been Smiley or Smiley-adjacent, but I have The Constant Gardener waiting for me to read it. His work is great, especially when he mines the banality of real spy work for humor.
