My current favorite thing in the game is when a random Buzzy Beetle pops in, and they're like, "Hey! I'm here too!" and then I mow the lil' dude down with a starman like every other blessed thing.

I hope an eventual special mode is SMB35: Second Quest where the fire flower isn't so much of a murder button, and Buzzy gets to shine.

.... Also please give me SMB 3-35, so I can live out my Wizard fantasies.

I really appreciate him saying what picking the levels in the beginning does, as well as how using the 1-2 warp zone works. It is not made clear in the game. I really wish Nintendo made some kind of digital manual to tell you these things! Makes much more sense now.

I got to world 8-3 randomly (as the second level no less!) and that run turned into the Super Hammer Bros Super Show.

Still need to unlock 6-2, 6-3, 6-4, 7-1, 7-4, 8-1, 8-2, and 8-4. (And bear 5-4)

So (if this has been covered in the thread my apologies, I didn't see anything on it), has anyone definitively figured out the red timer thing yet? I know the game threatens you with it if you don't keep moving; and, I usually see it when it's down to top 2 or 3 and (seemingly) the match has been going for a while. But I ran into a case the other day where the match hadn't been an excessively long one, I'd certainly kept moving and there were still 6 left in the game. I was perplexed and also pissed as I wound up running out of time (starting at nearly 400) and getting 6th while everyone else was still in.

Also, side note, I encountered my first 25-lakitu situation yesterday and very quickly died. Thank god those cases tend to be very late-match (and pretty rare in my experience so far).

There are two types of red timer: the "get moving" one, which shows a red icon next to the timer, and the "sudden death" one, which turns the numbers red. The former is resolved when you advance the screen a bit, and the latter is inevitable over time. You usually don't see it until you're down to two or three players, though.

Even the sudden death timer is gradual, though. It starts out a little faster and ends up impossibly fast.

I got bored of this due to being sick of 1-1, but this weekend's special battle starts in world 3 which is cool! Also a lot tougher than previous ones so the rounds go quicker, I've played a lot this weekend.

I just played this for the first time on stream. Got first place around two hours in and stopped it there because my blood was pumping like mad. Heck of a game. Would very much like if they added Lost Levels Luigi.

My avatar is Turning Mario, which I feel is the strongest.
