So in the US this has been approved in the Senate and is going to the House.

I assume it can't hurt to contact your representatives. I'm seeing a few articles noting that it might get pushed out but would certainly prefer a decision to be made sooner so at the very least I'll write something saying I want them to take action rather than not taking action and having this momentum die.

What a load! What an absolute beefer.

That being said, this was quite literally the only time in my entire life that DST worked correctly and successfully gave me an extra hours sleep on a day when I desperately needed it.

That does not forgive the preceding 73 DSLs from being a bunch of shorts-eaters

Did I complain about this already? I feel like I must have but, and I hate to use this kind of language, DST is a big ol' WHOPPER. There, I said it.

Do you know who doesn't respect DST? Children. So let's say you're raising a children, like I am right now. The children will wake up on a weekend when their bodies tell them to do so, not when some government mandated time tells them. Your schedule doesn't change but boy howdy the times do. This causes all manner of I'll effects.

What a flapadoodle!

I'm extra annoyed because Oregon said they'd get rid of it two years ago, but apparently because they picked to stay on DST rather than Standard Time it has to go through Congress and nothing has happened. Stupid.

Apparently politicians fear change so this continues to keep happening despite everyone hating it.

This is happening again this weekend despite all these attempts to get rid of it and it's still stupid bullshit

The hell I need to lose an hour of sleep right before what's probably going to be my busiest week at work in three years.

It's a pain, but you could go to bed/get up 15 minutes earlier today, then 30, then 45 so the hour on Sunday isn't as much of a shock.

Unfortunately I have a hard enough time getting to sleep in general that things like "go to bed earlier" don't really work for me. All it means is that I'll be in bed for longer, but I won't be tired.

Same. This is why I hate DST so much. I really suck at sleeping as it is.

Oh yeah, same. If I go to bed at 10pm I'm up at 4am for no reason.

On the one hand I like having the evenings last a bit longer, especially coming out of a shitty winter, but on the other hand goddamn it sucks losing that hour in the morning.

Managed to dodge this one by cleverly changing time zones on the same day so I was gonna get the jet lag anyway. Take that, time change!

BULL PIE!

My brain still woke me up at its usual time!

I cleverly got up with the toddler yesterday so it was my wife’s turn today. Mwahahah.

Still had to feed the dogs at 6.

One of our cats is an absolute STICKLER for a schedule, so she always starts yelling when we don't wake up when she thinks we should. So, that'll be fun.

This still sucks and should stop.
