Beyond Vampire Survivors: more games where you kill hundreds of the same enemy

Just say no.
No to gettin' mad at video games, or no to DRGS?

I did some more mastery runs and it's like, woo, I got less than a level-up's worth of a boost on a single weapon (unless these boosts are multiplicative, which would be slightly better). Each one or two runs I can get one more level of a single meta boost. And I think I'm just getting tired of it now.

Yeah, the lack of tangible progress in DRGS is wearing on me. I think I'll make one more attempt at Hazard 2 on the second stage and if that doesn't happen I'll put it away.

I poked my head back into Soulstone Survivors two years after my first addiction and they've expanded it quite a bit - more classes and a vastly expanded skill tree with class-specific talents (some of which give buffs to all classes - neat little touch). I dunno if I'll keep playing it, but I do still like some of the stuff it does. But damn there are sooooo many different upgrades (this could be a good thing or bad thing depending on your view).

Next up, a quick revisit to 20 Minutes Till Dawn to see what they've done with the place since I last put it down. And then maybe I'll actually be in the mood for Ode to Castlevania.

Nearly two weeks later and I'm still playing DRGS after all. I mainly log in to do the daily vanguard contract and then do one or two other mastery runs, and haven't touched any of the "main" missions in a while. I like the mutators and twists on the vanguard runs - Like today you had only beam or drone weapons, and started with a permanent +1 drones and +1 beam buffs, so everything was operating higher than usual. Plus a first-clear bonus and it's enough to keep me coming back for a drip feed, even if I'm not immersing myself.

Hazard 2 is well doable and I'm still challenged by (but usually able to clear) Hazard 3, so I'm working on weapon or class mastery 3 with some of my favorites.
