by "Best Ending" we mean the one with the final boss fight on top of the missile?

imho the hardest part of that route is just the fight against the Colonel where he jumps around randomly. it's a pretty weird fight to have in a game where attack sequences are otherwise so heavily scripted and telegraphed
Yep, that's the toughest for me. For most bosses, I basically just had to put the time in to memorize the patterns and it just came down to execution, but I always went for as quick of kills as possible just to keep my risk down. Browny's yo-yo weapon is pretty insane. But all that went out the window against the Colonel, since it's all random - I think my winning run still saw me lose a couple of lives to him.

In no way am I saying the game is easy, though! 😅

Just finished collecting all 1225 CollectaCards in Theatrhythm Final Bar Line.

The S-tier character ones were of course the real bear (after finishing the hardest series quests to get all the Memory ones finished off of course). A party of characters with CollectaCard Magnet and/or treasure drop up helped a lot, with Moogle Charm on netting me upwards of 30 drops on some songs. Concentrated on songs from the series that had missing characters once I was down to the last dozen or so. Still took a few weeks of playing half a dozen or more songs almost daily to get those last few to pop.

Jesus, Kirin. What is your time played at for FBL?

I went bananas over the past week and change, using the "blink RNG method" (YT guides here, thanks to Papa Jefe for them) of hunting shinies in Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl. It's connecting my Switch video output to my PC, and using a fanmade program to track how often your player character blinks, which tells you which seed you're on, and when to press A to get a shiny legendary. It works incredibly well:

That's every shiny available in BDSP other than Darkrai and Shaymin, who you need event items distributed by Nintendo in 2022 which I don't have (the missing ones from this image were hunted regularly at full odds before trying this method, such as Regirock, Rayquaza, Kyogre, etc). Since I don't have a hacked Switch, I'll be hunting Darkrai/Shaymin at full odds (1/8,192) back in Platinum on DS (I'm already hunting Darkrai as of yesterday, actually).

It's pretty cool to have all these shiny with me as the original trainer.

You know, Shining Diamond/Pearl was the first Pokémon remake I bounced off of, and did not complete. I am suddenly seized with a desire to make progress.

Hunting those shinies is extremely doable with the blink RNG method. The only annoying part is digging up all the stupid mysterious shards for all the legendaries in Ramanas Park. That can take hours. Protip: keep your Diglett counter high, that does apparently increase the odds of rare items. Also you can't dig up mysterious shards until Ramanas Park is unlocked (which requires unlocking the National Dex).

Cresselia and Regigigas were the hardest shinies. For those, you're going to want to set a good amount of time aside, and just tweak and tweak until you get lucky and the shiny appears. The reason is because of how you encounter them - Regigigas has that ice sliding puzzle to even get in front of it, and the amount of time it takes (even though it's only like 15 seconds) screws up the advances/timing of pressing A, so you have to recalculate in front of it, and since both your player character and the Pokemon itself blink (even though Regigigas doesn't have a blink animation, it still happens - you'll have to take my word for it lol) and thus advance the RNG faster, it's harder to hit your target. Cresselia is similar, plus the added annoyance of not being able to check and see if you hit your target until you find it again, because it's a roamer. My advice for them is to reidentify your position and get as close as you can to your target advance (ideally within like 20 advances, which isn't many), before dropping the text box and starting the encounter. Especially for Cresselia, who I saved for last because it was so difficult.

EDIT: Oh, and protip for Azelf and Mesprit (Uxie is positioned dead center in its cave, so you just hold up and you'll encounter it perfectly every time) - walking in the puddles in their caves advances the RNG, and since they're not dead center, you have to walk to talk to them and start the encounter, and if you don't do it the same every time, your advances will be all over the place. My advice for them is to use the dpad and walk the same exact way every time to start their encounters, and adjust your timing accordingly, so you eliminate the stupid puddles being a problem. It took me four hours of tries to get Azelf before I realized this, and then I got it within a handful of tries once I started using the dpad in the cave to walk in straight lines every time.

DOUBLE EDIT: I just realized I put Lugia in there twice lmao. I do not have two shiny Lugias. Here's Latias, who should be there in place of one of them instead:

Jesus, Kirin. What is your time played at for FBL?

171 hours on the in-game clock.
At this point I've also S-ranked or better every non-Supreme song chart except the goddang 12-star TFFAC Big Bridge, and am working on bumping most of those to SSS. All characters are Lv99 with a couple dozen at *9 star-level. Got all but like 3 or 4 achievements (one is basically an all-crit run on a Supreme level chart, oof). My Supreme scores are all over the place because most of those charts are fucking insane, but I bet there's a bunch I can still improve, and I've at least beaten all of them except, again, the TFFAC-BBB 16-star.

That's a hell of an exploit. When I started reading your post I thought maybe you meant you had to figure out the seed and then hit encounters with frame-perfect accuracy or something, but reading further I guess you just have to trigger them between various animations that step the RNG which sounds much more reasonable, lol. Weird RNG method, you'd think they'd involve the system clock for more randomness, but wprks out well for you!

Also dang, I should've gotten around to trading you that shiny Mesprit earlier. :p

There is a hard line beyond which I don't seem to be able to improve at rhythm games of any kind. Just can't keep up the focus needed between eyes, brain, and fingers.

Yeah, I barely can beat like, one Supreme song chart, and it makes me sad because I'd like to get that achievement or star or whatever (been a while since I played) for getting 9,800,000 on a Supreme chart, which I doubt I will ever be able to do. I did consider collecting all the Collectacards, but figured that would take forever... I'm sure I'll go back to FBL eventually like I did for years with Curtain Call, so maybe I'll get good enough to hit some more goals. It has been a while since I played...

Well, you do figure out the seed you're on, and then using the tool, track where you are to hit the correct advance. It's not quite frame perfect like the, say, GBA games are (you can shiny hunt those similarly, but those are frame perfect and I haven't tried them yet, if I ever do lol). It's more like you hit A during the right full second rather than 1/60 of a second, if that makes sense. At least, that's how it feels to me, there's no way I was hitting frame perfect inputs on my first try for a few of those (Raikou and Entei, iirc).

I honestly did not anticipate being able to get all the legendary shinies in the game, to be honest. I thought the roamers, Mesprit and Cresselia, would be beyond my skill. Apparently not! lol You're still welcome to the shiny Dragonair for free (I'm not a huge fan or whatever, and I already have one from Scarlet), and I'm sure we could work something out for the other stuff.
