Castlevania Anniversary Collection by itself contains seven Draculae to be defeated. If just 14.2857 of us do that, we'll have this thing in the (silk) bag.

Ghost House on Sega Master System has innumerable Draculas, but the downside is that you'd be playing Ghost House on Sega Master System.

Oh, fine, I guess if we have to be all sporting about protecting humanity from the bloodsucking menace...

By chance I've been playing Bloodstained over the last couple of weeks, and I did happen to beat Gebel last night. My best guess is that it would have been around 12:30 or 1:00 a.m. and thus technically October, but I can't rule out the possibility that it was 11:59 p.m.

I’m pretty much playing Spelunky 2 exclusively right now, which isn’t castlevania. Luckily it totally has a dracula in it anyway and I done got him killed.

I can contribute a Dracula! Finished up a partial playthrough of Castlevania: The Adventure, which sees Drac in... well, probably not his finest form. But he's still Dracula, and he's temporarily dead.

Despite my best efforts today I was unable to kill any Draculas -_-

Installed Bloostained 2. Hoping to run through it this weekend at least once or twice!

I put an oak state through Dracula's rib, does that count as maybe 1/5 a dracula?

Octopus Prime

Mysterious Contraption
(He/Him)
Cleared level 3 of Night Slashers.

While unnamed, the Vampire Boss is certainly at least a partial Dracula, and is guarded at all times by an inexhaustible supply of werewolves dressed like Marty McFly

Octopus Prime

Mysterious Contraption

Also, I beat him again as part of a late game boss rush.

Not sure if that counts as Two Dracula’s or one composite Dracula

Here's a Bonus Dracula down (in style):

To be honest this almost felt too easy - like Bonus Drac was committing suicide by cop.

Beta Metroid

At peace
(he/him)
The last few years, I’ve bookended October with runs through the original Castlevania, with the self-imposed challenge of no Holy Water on the first just to mix things up.

This year, I had no deaths until I reached Drac’s second form. Then I completely choked on my second attempt, before wrapping things up on my third life.

One Dracula down!

Mostly, I read
(she, her)
One Dracula defeated in Castlevania 1 via the Anniversary Collection, Japanese easy mode. Gratified to discover I remembered the trick to getting through the axe armour and Medusa head corridor before Death, less gratified to discover that the xbox one controller which I use on my PC has wonky 'up' detection on the dpad.

I for one had forgotten what Ghost House even is and had been under the impression you were instead arguing the worth of Laser Ghost.

Castlevania Bloodlines is down (Normal mode, with Eric). Like my CV1 run, I ended up taking two deaths along the way. Eye lasers in the vertical climb in Versailles got me first, then the armor mid-boss of Versailles got me.

That’s another Dracula down! This one gets slept on as fun Drac fights go.
The final form has multiple phases in itself, and the way Drac distorts and stretches over the course of the fight is really striking and memorable.

It would be a good subject for SNDG, now that I think about it...

I've replayed Castlevania on the NES, but through the Japanese version's Easy mode. I feel that it made the bosses a little too easy to breeze through, but Dracula has been defeated, so go OP Simon lol

I have never actually played through easy mode. Sounds like it might be a pretty fun little romp.

EDIT: Haha, boy, yeah, that was really easy. No knockback, double power against bosses, starting with 30 hearts each stage, never losing the Triple Shot... the odds are absolutely stacked in your favor. Got a no-death run out of it. :) So that's one more Drac down. Poor guy, he never stood a chance.

Haha yeah, it really made it a breeze. Which I'm ok with at this point in my life, haha.

Plastic Vampire

On this spooky 5th day of October 2020, I am here to report that the Dracula Count stands at 13 points. When the month is up, I will not only reveal how successful the mere mortals of Talking Time have been at stopping my plans, I will also announce who vanquished the most Draculas, and which Dracula was vanquished the most times.

Will you receive the coveted Belmont Award?

Also, I'm checking your work. These are my judgments:

  • Vlad from Spelunky 2 counts as a Dracula, due to his appearance and name.
  • The Vampire from Night Slashers counts as a Bonus Dracula. But since you fight him two distinct times, finishing the game nets a single Dracula Point.
  • The manual for the odd and fun-looking Ghost House for Sega Master System confirms that this game's Draculas are, indeed, Draculas. Please enjoy this manual snippet.

Really busy with college atm, but I'll kill a dracula or two before the end of the month.
