Your dad is Bob Rozakis?! Damn. I've got almost a full set of those Amazing World of DC Comics prozines he worked onHe created her when he was writing Batman Family and Teen Titans in the mid-70s.
I really want to spoil the cameo in the latest episode of Titans, but I won't. I'll say that the show found a way to surprise me with a multiverse hopping story. It introduced a character that as far as I know has only appeared in Animal Man and Suicide Squad.
Yep. (It's come up a few times before; that's why I changed my tagline to "son of the Answer Man".) And I've got to say, I'm impressed--I'm not sure how many copies of those we have, and my dad made an effort to stock at least 5 copies of everything he worked on.Your dad is Bob Rozakis?! Damn. I was mostly stopped cold by the fact that the joker is on the suicide squad.
Like.
Come on guys seriously.
So apparently they're making a Suicide Squad isekai anime series.
...
I'm not sure how to feel about this...

The mechs in the first episode of this show I thought bore an unmistakable relation to the mass-produced Evangelions, and given the show's very clear aspirations to be Anime I think that's the safest bet. But bringing up that specific Fletcher cartoon is an interesting microcosm of the nature of how "Eastern" and "Western" media has this kind of cyclical, feedback loop of influencing each other. Because these Flescher-bots are very obviously the inspiration for Miyazaki's robots in Lupin III and Laputa. Which in turn, influenced later generations of animators both domestically in Japan, and elsewhere like here in NA and Europe. It's fascinating to consider how connected all of these creative endeavors are and can be.I would also like to think that the action sequence at the end made some references to the old Fleischer Superman cartoons, especially this one.
I believe that was the original idea behind the Lois & Clark TV series, but it's been a while since I watched it, so I don't remember if that's what it actually became.Having thought about the show I think it's kinda nice that there's a Superman romantic comedy.
Like no bullshit. It's cool that this exists
The saddest thing of all is that you'd think this just an insult based on reputation alone, but it is literally the actual reason behind the rebrand. They didn't want people to get 'confused' by thinking Max was just HBO (e.g. GOOD) stuff, and to dilute/tarnish the HBO branding with all of the garbage brought over on the Discovery-side of things. The last thing Max wants is their brand to associated with quality.
