One last Game before we call this a wrap!
Tecmo World Wrestling
I'd never played this game until some of the fine folks here recommended it! I have to say I enjoyed it quite a bit, though button mashing seemed to be the name of the game, just as in all other early wrestling games. The music was catchy though, and the gameplay was pretty enjoyable. The inclusion of an announcer is a nice touch too. Only two choices though, you should already know who they are in real life: The Atheletic training: Wrassling: Last edited by Falselogic; 02-21-2012 at 04:43 PM. |

Tecmo World Wrestling Cont'd
More Wrassling:
The big finisher: That's about as much NES wrestling as I can take folks! But there is a Wrestling RPG LP going on right now and Shakewell will be bringing you Saturday Night Slammasters next month! Thanks for watching! Last edited by Falselogic; 02-21-2012 at 04:43 PM. |

If I were not in the company of gentlemen I might find cause to snicker.

I was kind of wondering about that. I seem to remember one of my friends owning or frequently renting this one. I think we need to see more of it before this thing is done.

Especially as neither of the two guys on the main screen have any of the cooler moves in the game - the powerbomb or the giant swing.

WHAT?! I pushed up and down and left and right. I didn't hit select... Damn, that's a pretty big thing to miss...

Oh Yeah! I remember the announcer doing an "around they go" kind of thing while it did the big, Ninja Gaiden-ish move scene!

Other awesomeness about this game: you can lose by standing on the top rope for a five count. I always remember WWF refs counting Macho Man when he'd wait up there before the elbow, but I never knew that it was an actual DQ rule until my cousin lost a match due to that rule. My only real complaint about Tecmo is that the matches drag on a bit too long for the number of moves you have to play with, but beyond that it's the best non-arcade wrestling game of the NES era. |
