(This update starts on the previous page)
This is a unique trap for Annie, as well as a pretty powerful accessory. We'll be keeping it for ourselves. As we leave that house the townspeople start finishing their tasks. Now that every trap we want is assigned, we can afford to do some equipment fiddling. Dual wielding, yes? The Jacket is a good upgrade over Sundown's Poncho. The Frying Pan gives 10 vit, which is nice. The Peacekeeper Badge has no effect on your stats. It's purely symbolic. Annie is one of the fastest workers, and I should've given her a trap over the Barman. Gibson, though, just sucks. Lightning Shot sounds promising. (Texas Jitterbug is AOE, and Sidewinder is diagonal only.) With the Barman's work done, we can drink to pass the time if we've done everything we need to. There's nothing left to prepare, so we may as well drink until dawn…. We'll see the outcome next update. |

Ah! A(nother) cliffhanger!
I'm pretty happy that you're doing this LP. Live A Live has been on my to-play list for a few years now, but I've never so much as booted it up. All I really knew about it before now is that a couple of the music tracks are on Drammatica. |

Good thing we finished with time to spare. After walking three days and three nights we finally found a town, Watt! Too bad he GETS SHOT IMMEDIATELY A couple fall into the pits. The next two hop 'em and keep galloping. Ooh, a carrot! Billy picks one off with his slingshot. A molotov hits two more. What's a poster like this doing out in the open? Oooo. The dynamite takes out an entire wave. |

Not bad, rope. Or else…I'll turn the bar into a beehive! Mad Dog: Yeah… Let's have a good look at Dio's mug. Mad Dog: You stay here. If we're killed, you're the only one who can protect the townsfolk. Billy: I believe in you! What d'you think you can do… Boss time. The Molotov Cocktail's attack is fairly useful, especially if you let more than one of the other Crazy Bunch members through. Another attack takes him out of the picture. RIP |

I believe he can't actually hit you with his dangerous attacks from melee, so you may as well just charge him. It's counterintuitive, but it works. He decides to focus on Mad Dog, which is fine by me. I end up using Tequila to heal him a couple of times, since I forgot about its confusion side effect. So Mad Dog had to stumble towards Dio while dead drunk, getting shot the whole time. Eventually he gets there, though. Dio's Molotov Cocktail attack is weak and only hits a single target. It's exactly what we want to deal with. The first time I played through the game, Mad Dog got completely wasted by Dio's actual gatling gun attack, which is perfectly capable of one-shotting you. Characters with 0 HP can be revived with normal healing items, but a damage dealt to them while they're down will remove them from battle permanently. BZZZT Eventually one of Sundown's attacks takes him out. |

Uh…. Dio turned into a horse? When the 7th was annihilated by the allied Sioux and Cheyenne forces, they only spared a single horse… Live A Live, people. Live A Live. Barman: That could very well be… Sheriff: Thanks, Kid. I-I mean, stranger… Next Time: Unfinished business. |

See that all made perfect sense until that last part.

What a perfect game. Although it seems like one that might be more fun to watch than play...
Great LP, Epithet! I'll be watching it. |

From what I recall, this is actually a recurring joke in each chapter, a guy's dad getting killed in some way. Though I don't know if it's in the Cube chapter. |

It is; it's just offscreen.

Satan won't help you now.
Molotov coctails weren't called that before WWII, by the way. |

I'm interested in this. Yo Epithet, are you going to maybe do a little gallery of these? Or at least point them out from here on out? I didn't notice them in the previous chapters.

The Sci-Fi chapter one is rather cleverly hidden. It's the antennae.
Dio's Gatling Gun can only shoot in diagonals, but it'll always one shot you. Still, a rather easy fight if it's just him. Fighting all 16 gang members though, is actually possible. You have to use all your dynamite and Molotovs cleverly though, because the horsemen are rather tough. Also, that horse actually exists. It wasn't purple, but still, the makers sure did their research. |

I tried for that scene in Masaru's chapter, but it's random and kind of rare, so I didn't manage it. There's another annoyingly random element to Masaru's chapter that I might show off as well. The dead dad in the upcoming chapter is hard to miss, so you'll be seeing that.
I've kind of got a laundry list of things I'll probably go back and showcase. Beating Captain Square, a couple of other minor things in Cube's chapter, fighting O. Dio with no traps, Annie's frying pan, and so on. |

I didn't set any traps, because I am stupid, so I had to fight all of the gang members (didn't get gattlinged though).

Looks like things are coming to a close.
…. Annie: Stop it, you two! Mad Dog: Quit yer yappin! This is between him an' me. Mad Dog: Here we go! There's no way to avoid this duel with Mad Dog. One shot lays him low, but Mad Dog isn't giving up without fighting back. We could end this all here and now, but after all they've been through that's not happening. Mad Dog: We'll meet again. Sheriff: How can we ever thank you? Billy: Mister! … Also…I have a request. Sheriff: If it's about that badge…Keep it. It don't mean anything. I feel like…I've redeemed myself, badge or no! Annie: Wait! There's…There's something we need to apologize to you about. Truth is…We don't have any gold left… Of course. Annie: Huh? You folks reminded me… How to protect the weak… Annie: Kid… |

Sheriff: I see… Now I remember! Known throughout the West for his arm, fast as lightning… Someone was always out to challenge him to a duel. Eventually, it got so bad that his town was attacked by an entire band of outlaws. He couldn't do anything, so he put a price on his own head, and wandered the desert, in search of a place to die… Kid! Sundown Kid! Heh heh…Inseparable to the end, huh? This horse? Heheh… It's Dio. He an' I get along mighty fine. Draw, Kid! This duel plays out the same as any of the others. Mad Dog: Blast! Why don't you ever kill me? Wait! Yeowch! W-Wait! |

It's been a while since I did this chapter, but is it possible to end it differently, by not running away from Mad Dog?

I think that would be the best thing by this point. It is basically on hiatus right now. I've been thinking about updating lately, but we'll see.

I have some more spare time (read: I’m bored during winter break) so this Let’s Play is back.
He has begun to feel the need for a suitable successor for his technique. His disciples train hard, but only one will come to harness their master’s power. A style of Kung Fu generations old is about to fade. |

It is as I expected... I’ve no longer any moments to spare for this. Before my time comes to an end, I must entrust, to one of strong body and of strong mind... My Xin Shan Quan! I pick up some healing items and armor scattered around the Master’s house and head out. The bamboo forest is to the south and west of his house. There’s some stuff in here that will be useful for when we head into town. |

Tasty! Cute! Cute kitty! The Master kicks the shit out of it. (He’s already locked at level 16, so there’s no point in grinding with him) What is that? He continues deeper into the forest, looking for more herbs. Bandit: What’d you say? Bandit: Hah, you tryin to shoot for sympathy just cuz you’re older’n some of the trees here? You’re cruisin for a bruisin, gramps! |

It’s an easy fight. Bandit: You old bastard, you beat me. What the hell!? Master: My, but you should be ashamed of yourself, little one. However, your technique shows promise. Why not learn Kung Fu and give yourself a new lease on life? Bandit: But... you still... Argh, dammit, I’m pissed! All right, gramps, I’m game! I’ll learn from you. But don’t expect any loyalty or anything like that! Master: Heheheh... If you say so, little one. Bandit: Don't call me that! My name, Li Kuugo, carries much honor! Li: Hmph! You talk too much, gramps. C’mon, let’s get out of here. And we’ve got our first pupil! |
