Another enemy goes for Duessel, but can’t manage any damage. Another goes for Eirika, but she shrugs it off. Finally, the bad guy’s long distance healer gets involved.

Marisa heals from standing on the fort, but not enough to actually take a hit, especially not from one of those wyverns. Knoll runs back to join up with his buddies.

On the top part of the map, Eirika and Innes are dealing with a horde of Pegasus.

I am trying to salvage the center of the map as well, with Joshua taking out a fighter, Marisa healing herself and Lute taking out a wyvern.

On the other side of the top of the map, it is down to the boss and a small handful of enemies.

L’Arachel gets yet another Level Up healing Cormag. That still only puts her at Lv 10. This is why I often change medic classes early. At this rate she has no chance to get to 20/20 levels. I’d be surprised if she reaches 20/10 by the end of the game. I think it would be better off with getting her to 15/15, because at least then I’d get 15 levels of actually being able to attack.

Cormag gets another great Level Up. He’s turning out even more beastly than usual.

Tana takes out the mage, and Ross equips a ranged weapon and moves into position.

Another turn for the enemies, another chance for me have gotten Marisa killed.

Plenty of attacks to go around, but as usual I get the better end of most of these encounters. Though, Eirika is getting pretty low on HP.

And the next one missed, so she is in the clear. Meanwhile, Ephraim and Ross go to work on a couple of opponents.

Here’s the big one. This wyvern can do exactly enough damage to kill Marisa, but he fortunately fails to connect.

Ending the enemies turn are some ranged attacks that I can’t counter, but aren’t really a threat.

My turn 4 or 5 or whatever.

Lute takes out that pesky wyvern. Not too many +1’s on that Level up, but she got them in good places. Lute is getting close to class change as well. Do I go Mage Knight, which gives her a horse, or Sage which gets more magic option and has better stat caps.

Marisa downs the mercenary, and Gerik and Innes take out some Pegasus.

Eirika breaks into the convoy to get herself an Elixir. Ross, has to use L’Arachel magical healing abilities again. And finally, while moving into position, Kyle finds the Swiftsole, which grants the use 1 extra square of movement. I’m not sure who will get that yet.

Cormag continues his work, and Duessel actually gets to be used offensively to take out an enemy. Back in the middle of the map, Col stumbles upon a Wyrmslayer in the sand.

Hey, a Level Up for Ephraim. Because he always needs more Strength.

One last enemy phase before I end this entry

Joshua has become the favorite target now, but he is sturdier and deadlier than Marisa, as these fellows soon discovered.

Mixed in with the attacks on Joshua are some on Innes, who is in absolutely no danger.

That’s it for the first half of Chapter 15. Next time my army will finish trudging across this desert and deal with the rest of the Grado Army.

Default Let's Play Fire Emblem The Sacred Stones Chapter 15 Part 2

Time for the part 2 of Chapter 15.

Here’s where we are for the second half of this battle. I’ve still got a handful of enemies at that logjam in the sand. On top, there is just the boss and a few stragglers for Eirika and Innes to deal with.

Here is Eirika dealing with one of those stragglers.

Caellach isn’t going to be easy to deal with, because other than having some rather good stats, he’s also got the Hoplon Guard, which prevents critical hits.

Kyle takes out the remaining Wyvern Rider. He gets a pretty great Level Up! Kyle has turned out nicely this time.

Lute takes out a Cavalier, while on the bottom part of the map Ephraim does the same.

Level Up! for Marisa. I kind of wish I had used her more now, she too is looking pretty good.

Joshua takes out the last of the guys in the middle of the map, and Ross and L’Arachel try to catch up to the action on the other side of the desert.

It is the enemies chance to see if they can do anything.

A Cavalier gets a lucky shot in on Marisa, knocking her down desperately close to dead again. Innes dodges and Kyle exacts some retribution for his attack.

Ephraim and Duessel deal with their business.

A pesky Paladin goes for Joshua, who does a little damage and gets a sad Level Up! Joshua isn’t really lighting the world on fire right now, but he’s not too bad. He does need some more strength. and could definitely do with some more defense.

More dodging from Joshua and some just not caring from Duessel.

My turn again. First off, I have Eirika take out the last of those Pegasus Riders.

Innes finds a Silver Card in the sand, which cuts prices in shops in half. It is pretty invaluable, especially if you are trying to get some extra class change items. Tana finds a silence staff, which is pretty much useless. Cormag takes a hefty chunk of life off of the only enemy in the area.

Colm is right there to finish the job that Cormag started, which gets him probably his best Level Up! so far. He’s still not looking too great, but I’m kind of stuck with him.

The rest of my troops move in, taking down everyone in their path.

Duessel and Joshua do some work. Duessel’s guy dies, while the Myrmidon merely softens his up.

Marisa is right there for the finish, though, and gets a decent Level Up!

It is the enemy phase again. I just now realized that I made a huge mistake. Because if that Wyvern Knight manages to hit Marisa, she is dead.

Luckily, he misses. As does the Shaman with the long range tome, but that was going to happen no matter what.

Here is the state of the battlefield at the start of the turn. A ton of enemy reinforcements just arrived in the bottom left corner of the map. Other than that, it is just a few Wyvern Knights and the bosses.

We go after those Wyverns, though they give me some trouble. Eventually, they are all taken out.

So the rest of my army turns to face the enemies coming in from behind.

The Shamans are just too inaccurate to be any sort of threat, no matter their numbers.

Back in my turn, Eirika takes out one of those Shaman’s. Look at that Level Up! Yeah, Eirika is looking good.

Everyone else gets in on the act as well. The enemies just don’t stand a chance.

Kyle gets a Level Up!, which adds to his already excellent strength, but doesn’t do anything to correct his slightly lacking speed.

The flying units do their thing, and take out the mercenary. Tana also stumbles across a hidden Killer Bow, which is nice to have.

Here’s comes the enemies assault, though their axe users are too inaccurate to be a threat. The Mage, though, is able to put something of a hurting on Cormag.

The Shaman’s are still about useless.

I keep flirting with disaster with Marisa. She has come so close to dying so many times this battle, I’ve been lucky.

Colm and Kyle go after the mages, with Kyle taking his out.

Ephraim finishes off the Paladin, and gets a Level Up! that really wasn’t worth it. Still, his stats are good enough there isn’t much to worry about.

Lute also gets a Level Up!, hers much nicer than Ephraim’s. I need to do something about her HP, though. It is low enough that it could be a problem.

Knoll too gets a Level Up! Likely the only one he’ll get, because I don’t intend to use him.

And finally, Cormag gets a Level Up! Another character with excellent strength, but somewhat poor speed. Still, he’s going to easily max strength.

Eirika takes out the last Shaman, but breaks my streak of Level Ups!

Eirika: What? What do you mean by that?
Innes: I was in a difficult situation at Carcino. I...must admit that I owe you much for your help that day.
Eirika: I... I see.
Innes: So now, I've decided to protect you in battle. I don't know how to say this, but... It is unacceptable that I remain indebted to you.
Eirika: Oh, you and your fool pride--
Innes: Regardless, you can count on me. No arrow can reach all enemies, but I guarantee your safety. Will you accept my oath?
Eirika: Er... Sure. I accept. Thank you, Prince Innes.
Innes: Follow me, then.
Eirika: Uh, wait a moment, Innes.

Yeah, I’ve decided that Innes is going to be Eirika’s A Rank Support, with her and Ephraim only getting B. This is partly because they have the most options and it doesn’t make sense to waste them on each other and also partly because Eirika and Ephriam’s A Rank is boring.

Gerik takes out the last of the shaman’s up top.

This is the entirety of enemy’s turn.

I’ve got some more items to grab out of the sand, but otherwise this map is completely clear.

L’Arachel heals, and everyone else moves to take one the bosses.

Ephraim: Assigning you the task was the right thing to do.
Kyle: It was no task--it was an honor. I shall continue to protect her as best I can. Until your orders for me change, my prince, I'll guard her well.
Ephraim: We'll do so together, Kyle, because this is where we join our forces. Let's you and I finish off these last remnants of the Grado Army.
Kyle: Yes, sir!
Ephraim: It looks like you've had plenty of chances to improve your swordsmanship. I expect you to surprise me out there.
Kyle: You've grown yourself, milord. You've the dignity of a king now. Like your father before you.

There would have been dialogue between Eirika and Ephraim if I had managed to get them together. It would probably been just as sexist in ignoring that at this point Eirika needs little protection. She's getting that attitude from everyone.

More healing, and Colm takes out the healer.

It also put him close enough that the Berserker hiding in the ruined town that he attacks. And connects with less than a 20% chance.

L’Arachel heals, Lute takes out the berserker and Colm steals a Guiding Ring from that last Shaman.

Kyle jumps in to pull Colm out of the fray, just in case.

Next turn, Kyle drops him off for L’Arachel to heal.

Cormag gets to kill that Shaman, the last non-boss enemy on the map.

L'Arachel does some more healing

While L’Arachel heals everyone she can find, the others comb the desert, pulling a few more items out of the sand. Eclipse is the long range dark magic, which is powerful but hard to actually hit anything with. The Metis’s Tome boosts the unit you use it on’s growth.

Eirika is the only one who can reliably hit Caellach, though she isn’t able to do much damage. She is also unlikely to face much of a reprisal.

I find someone for L’Arachel to heal and end my turn. No one else at the top can do much, and I still need to find some items before I clear this map entirely.

Innes draws Caellach’s attack, and dodges it. He isn’t as good as Eirika, but he can do a little. Plus, it gets him a rather nice Level Up!

Eirika goes toe to toe with Caellach once again. This is going to take a long time without critical hits.

Hey, L’Arachel gets another excellent Level Up! By healing people who don’t really need it.

This time Innes takes the brunt of Caellach’s Tomahawk. Still, he has the chance to recover on my turn.

Except I am dumb and determined enough to have Innes come after him on my turn. After Eirika does her part.

Time for a little reunion for Caellach and Joshua. It would be easier to kill him with Eirika, Innes and Gerik, but I can’t miss the opportunity to let the most appropriate person take him down.

Joshua: I’ve been all right. Still working as a mercenary. When did you get all proper and join the Grado Army?
Caellach: Didn’t I tell you? I wasn’t about to waste my life as a nameless soldier. Still, I think back on those days a lot lately … My axe and your sword… The two of us were a deadly pair, eh?
Joshua:
Caellach: By the way… I know all about you, Joshua. Who you really are I mean. The prince of Jehanna, huh? When did you plan on sharing the wealth, you sneaky dog?
Joshua: Listen… You can’t reduce a nation to loot waiting to be divided. I’m going to succeed her as ruler of my homeland. Hey, Caelach…

Caellach: This is war. There’s nothing you can do about it. Besides. Grudges get in the way of work, right?
Joshua: That’s true. It’s as you say. Listen Caellach, I’ve got to kill you now. Don’t hold it against me.

Caellach: You arrogant… You haven’t changed a bit! I’ve always wanted to show you who’s better, Joshua. And I’m even stronger that I used to be. I’m gonna wipe that smug look off your face for good!
This little interaction makes me wish they would have forced more Joshua on us. He’s one cold bastard. Really, that whole conversation is pretty awesome.

Joshua misses his first chance for revenge, but so does Caellach.

Luckily, he gets him on his second attempt. And down goes Caellach.

Too bad the Level Up! Joshua gets for it isn’t so great. He also scavenges that Hoplon Guard off of the corpse. So someone gets to be immune to critical hits.

L’Arachel is now using her Barrier Staff again. Keep pulling in that exp.

First, Duessel softens up Valter, who tend to always be at the top of his crazy game. Though he has no interest in Duessel, but who can blame him. No one cares about Duessel.

Duessel does chop him up pretty good. If I wanted to I could take him out with the old general, but there are people that need revenge.

Now that Caellach is gone, it is safe for my guys to search around behind him and find the hidden Warp Staff in that top corner. Also, L’Arachel actually has something to heal.

Time of another dose of revenge.

Cormag: But I must know the truth, Valter, and you will tell me. You are the one who murdered my brother, aren’t you?
Valter: …Hmph. No reason for lies, seeing as you’re nothing but a traitor. You’re right, Cormag! I was the one who cut your brother down. He was just like you, a weak, pitiful fool.
Cormag:

Cormag: How can I not? I’ve dreamt of revenge, chased it for days… And now it’s here before me!

Maybe it’s just something about riding a Wyvern that makes one melodramatic. Cormag’s revenge speech is not as good as Joshua’s. A dish best served cold and all that.

That … that wasn’t slow at all. That was rather fast in fact. It may have been agonizing, though. It sounded painful.

Another not so great Level Up!, though his stats are already solid. He also gets the Fili Shield, which I think I forgot to mention earlier. It takes away a flying unit’s weakness to archers. I think that is going to Tana, as Cormag tends to be a little more sturdy.

Ephraim: And I've missed you. I can't tell you how happy I am to see you safe. Oh, I almost forgot. I have something to give you.
Eirika: What are these?
Ephraim: These are called Sacred Twins. We took these relics from Grado. The dark tome Gleipnir and the black axe Garm... I doubt either of us can use them, but... Why not see if one of your companions can use them. They might have better luck.
Eirika: They're from Grado? Does this mean Grado Keep has fallen?

Well, that threat is neutralized. I mean, sure the rest of their army is terrorizing the continent, but Ephraim waltzed right in and conquered their capitol. He also has the ultimate Black Magic, which is I doubt I’ll have someone to use, and the ultimate axe, which seems set for Ross.

L’Arachel: Eirika, may I make a suggestion? We've been able to join forces here so... How about if we all get together and trade information. There are people on both sides waiting after all.

Ephraim: I'll begin by telling you of how we've fared in our mission. We seized the Grado capital and defeated her emperor, Vigarde. Grado's capital guard have, to a man, surrendered and laid down their arms. Pockets of resistance remain, but the war itself is over.
Innes: Is that so?
Ephraim: However, something remains that still bothers me. A Grado man named Knoll told me about something called a “Dark Stone.?Their mages had uncovered lore that led them to craft a powerful magic stone. This Dark Stone may have been the catalyst of Grado's transformation. It seems to be the source of that black wave of energy Myrrh described. Vigarde died some time ago, but the power of the stone played him like a puppet. The war and everything that passed since was planned by the Dark Stone's master.
Innes: Well? Who is it?
Ephraim: ...I still can't believe it, but I'll tell you nonetheless. According to Knoll, the man behind this is Lyon, the imperial prince. He said Lyon's got the Dark Stone.
Innes: Figures it's Prince Lyon...
Eirika: No, that doesn't make any sense. Ephraim and I know Lyon better than that. We've been friends for years. Lyon's not the sort of person who could start a war like this.
Innes: But, Eirika...
Eirika: I saw Lyon recently. Ephraim, you might know this, but after I abandoned the sea route to Rausten, I traveled overland with Prince Innes to Jehanna. We ran into trouble with Grado's forces, and I chanced upon Lyon. He didn’t share the details of his situation, but he intimated that he was on our side. Despite all appearances, he was on our side. So Lyon...
Ephraim: Eirika, I also met Lyon.
Eirika: Did you really?
Ephraim: Yes. But, he was like a completely different person. To be honest, he didn’t seem to be completely...human.
Eirika: Ephraim... What are you saying?
Ephraim: I'll tell you what I saw. I found Lyon inside Grado Keep. This is what he told me: He said he was behind this war. He said he'd befriended us solely so that, one day, he could invade Renais... He told me he killed our father.
Eirika: That... That can't...
Ephraim: I know. I can't believe it either. I refuse to believe it. How could he have planned all this since he was a child... I simply can't fathom it.

Eirika: ......
Innes: The two of you might find this hard to accept, but... The state of Prince Lyon's heart matters little. He has the Dark Stone. That rock is the cause of all that's happened. The prince must be stopped.
L’Arachel: Not yet. There is something that needs doing first.
Eirika: L’Arachel?
L’Arachel: Prince Ephraim, I do believe you felt it as well. The Dark Stone held by Prince Lyon... It exudes a malefic miasma... We might be able to handle Prince Lyon alone, but that stone is beyond our ken.
Eirika: Then what do you suggest?
L’Arachel: The Sacred Stones.
Eirika: The Sacred Stones?
L’Arachel: We've all heard the legend of the five Sacred Stones. They alone possessed the power to seal the Demon King away forever.

Ephraim: We also have hope. According to Lyon, he has already seen to the destruction of Grado's, Frelia's, and Jehanna's stones.
Eirika: Hm. That explains something... Grado forces attacked me, intent on destroying the Stone of Renais. If that could be the reason they chose to invade Renais... The power of the Sacred Stones may be greater than we'd ever known.
L’Arachel: Yes, exactly! If we acquire a Sacred Stone, we'll be able to oppose the Dark Stone's might!
Innes: But three of the stones have been shattered, and our options are few. Do you suppose that, during the invasion of Renais...
Ephraim: No, I don't think so. The Stone of Renais is hidden by the power of Eirika's and my bracelets.
Eirika: Grado has made many attempts to take our bracelets. Every one has failed, and so the stone may still be safe.
Ephraim: We have to confirm that, of course.

So the gang is back together and now we have some idea of what started this whole war.

Myrrh: Saleh...
Saleh: I'm grateful to see you well. The people of Caer Pelyn will be overjoyed that you're safe.
Myrrh: I must apologize to you, Saleh. You were there to protect me from the very start of my journey. When we were attacked, I was separated from you, and... I'm so sorry to have worried you.
Saleh: Lady Myrrh. As long as you are safe, we have nothing to be worried about. It will be my honor to serve you until your mission is complete.

So Myrrh joins the team. She is the usual dragon girl. Weak stats that get a huge boos when using her tranformation weapon. Too bad it is very limited in number of uses. I tend to use her some, but it is tough to balance leveling her up and preserving her one dragonstone.

That ends the middle third of the game, where Eirika and Ephraim are split up. Now the whole team is together, minus one or two late addtions. Next time, we return to Renais and free it.

Now that we’ve cleared up things in Jehanna in a most dismal fashion and Ephraim has apparently single handedly routed Grado’s forces, it is time for our heroes to go home. Which was apparently left in the charge of the traitor Orson.

Something, or someone, is possibly rotten in the state of Renais.

Eirika: Brother...
Ephraim: What has happened to our home? What has happened to Castle Renais? How did it come to be so ruined? So desolated?
Seth: Spies report that the castle is being held by the traitor Orson.
Ephraim: Orson... In retrospect, I realize he’s been acting odd for a while now. He seemed so... dispirited.
Seth: His wife passed away some six months back. The loss may have been too much for his mind to bear. His love and devotion for his wife were well known among the knights.
Eirika: ......
Seth: Now, he sits alone in the king’s former bedchambers. He makes no effort to govern. No one is allowed to enter the chambers, and he takes no meals.
Eirika: What could he possibly be doing?
Seth: I do not know. The spies had no insight into his behavior. He does nothing to deal with the dark creatures and bandits roaming the land. Reports say all of Renais is engulfed in chaos. Region after region is revolting, and Orson’s reign is already crumbling. Left alone, it may very well collapse under the weight of its own neglect.
Ephraim: We cannot allow the situation to reach that point.

Ephraim: What is it, Myrrh?
Myrrh: I-I will fight with you. Now that Selena has returned my dragonstone to me... I’ll do what I can until its power runs out. Let’s take back your home.
Eirika: Are you sure about this?
Myrrh: For the two of you... I simply want to help.
Ephraim: All right. I understand. But you must make me a promise.

So Myrrh joins, though I didn’t really consider using her this map and neglected to get shots of her stats. She is a powerful unit, but limited by her one dragonstone.

Nothing creepy happening here. Nothing creepy at all.

That guard agrees with me.

Guard: What do you think he’s doing back there? I’ve heard lots of bizarre rumors from the master of the mess hall. ...Do you think he needs help? Could he be dangerous?
Other Guard: I don’t care. I’m here for the money. As long as I get paid, I’m happy. But on the subject of rumors, have you heard the stories of the secret treasure? There’s supposed to be some fabulous wealth hidden in Castle Renais. I tell you, if I find it, I’m gone.
Riev: Heh heh heh?

Orson: Get out. This is Monica and my place. I will not have our home disturbed by anyone. I did as you asked. I betrayed Renais. My promise has been kept.
Riev: Heh heh heh? How long are you going to continue this nonsense? Eirika and Ephraim have joined forces. Even now, their united forces march toward the capital, toward you.
Orson: Eirika?
Riev: You can’t imagine they’ll forgive you for your treachery, can you? I expect the sin of your betrayal has shattered you entire family’s name. And after all you did to free your wife from the cold clutches of the grave? It’s a shame she’ll be sent back there dangling from the hangman’s noose.
Orson: No! That can’t happen--
Riev: Heh heh heh? Oh, but it can, and it will. Unless you do something to stop it. You understand what is required, don’t you? You have your orders, Orson. Heh heh heh?
Orson: ...Monica, I'm sorry. I have something I must do. Please wait for me here. Oh, darling, don't look so sad. I'll be back soon, and then I'll never leave. I must do this to protect our happiness. You understand that, don't you? All right then. I'll be back.
Lyon: ?..

Lyon: Urr? Why? This terrible? Uh! Urr? gaa? AhhErr?
Riev: Leave everything to your humble servant, Riev. Heh heh heh?

Something odd is definitely going on with Lyon. The only question is whether the dead-eyed Riev has anything to do with it or is merely capitalizing on the situation.

This is not a big map. There really isn’t much interesting in the layout, either. Just a few corridors with a handful of enemies. It does start the rollout of the Advanced classes as normal enemies. Half the enemies on this map are advanced classes. Still, being a better class doesn’t matter if the stats are better, and these aren’t much better than the usual enemies. I’m going to jam my whole group through the opening, then split, sending some down and the rest up.

Back to the regular crew for this map. I’ve added Ephraim to the regular group, because he is awesome. Colm is in again, since there are chests to open. There really aren’t any weak links here, except Amelia, who is well on her way to being awesome but still needs a half dozen levels or so to be up to snuff.

Kyle draws first blood, though he can’t finish the guy off. Other than L’Arachel wasting her Barrier Staff, everyone else just moved up as far as they can.

Now it’s the Enemy’s Phase. The weakened enemy goes for Franz rather than Kyle, but the result would have been the same either way. Too bad the Level Up! he got wasn’t too great.

The other one rams himself against Franz as well, and gets smacked around pretty good.

That leaves him weakened enough for Amelia to take him out once my turn starts. She also gets a Level Up!, one that is much better than Franz’s.

Franz, staying close to Amelia for Support purposes, tries out his javelin. Lute comes up and takes out one of the fighters before Kyle finishes the one that Franz weakened.

L’Arachel keeps Barriering and everyone else moves up, stuck in the tight corridor.

This jerk manages to connect on Franz with his stupid Poison Axe, meaning he’ll be losing life for the next few turns. The mage can reach Kyle, but he doesn’t do much damage.

Ephraim gets the first Mage, but Cormag can’t land a hit on the second one, leaving him for Kyle to come in and clean up.

L’Arachel tops off the poisoned Franz.

Lute sneaks in to take out that jerk with the poison axe. And she gets another pretty great Level Up. I have almost no complaints about how Lute has turned out. That HP could be a problem if she ever takes a hit.

The rest of the team moves through the corridor. We don’t reach the range of any of the other enemies, so they don’t move on their turn.

Another turn of just L’Arachel healing and everyone else moving up. Those two Knights don’t move, so I’m in no danger from them.

Franz takes the first shot at a Knight, softening him up. Innes does the same for the other one.

Amelia cleans up one Knight for a pretty solid Level Up!

Kyle gets the other for a much less impressive one.

More moving and more wasting a Barrier Staff.

More of the same for another turn. The first half of this map is pretty barren.

Amelia starts the southern assault by taking out a Shaman

Franz follows up by taking out the Druid in the middle of the group, netting a ho hum Level Up! He is nearing class change. Do we make him the statistically superior Great Knight or the cooler looking Paladin?

All the healing finally pays off for L’Arachel, getting her a Level Up that at least includes Magic.

Kyle and Lute go south, with Kyle taking out another Shaman. The rest of the group heads for the top of the map.

All of those Warriors are converging on my team. But only close enough that I can get to them next turn.

The Shamans come after Amelia, but with their low accuracy I’m not too worried about her.

I guess maybe I should have been worried, because if I got the bad end of this one in four chance, Amelia would have been a goner.

One Sage by the boss has Purge tome. Generally long range magic isn’t accurate enough to worry about, but this one has a pretty good chance of hitting my guys. He connects with Colm to take off a disastrous amount of HP.

At the end of the turn, nearly a dozen mounted units appear at the bottom of the map. They are about half Great Knights and half Cavaliers. Also, a pair of thieves appear on both the left and right sides of the map.

Gerik starts out my turn by taking out a Warrior for a Level Up. Somehow he’s fallen a few levels behind the rest of my crew.

I hoped for a critical, but Eirika didn’t get it, so Innes had to finish her guy off.

Down on the bottom, Amelia downs another Shaman and gets another Level Up! No Strength, but a good level up otherwise.

Lute takes out the other one, while Kyle moves into position to get the Knight in the doorway. This group will have to move back up to take care of those oncoming mounted guys.

Cormag takes down the other Warrior on the left, while L’Arachel heals up Colm from that dangerous blast he took. Everyone else moves and waits.

One of the two remaining Warriors comes after Eirika, who does get the critical hit this time. She also nets a pretty bad Level Up, leaving her one short of the max of 20.

Those guys on the bottom head my way, and Eirika moved in the range of the other long range Sage, though he has little chance of hitting her.

The other Sage nails Colm again. Then, the last Warrior comes after him, but luckily he had very little chance of actually hitting him.

Once my turn starts again, Eirika takes that Warrior out.

Kyle downs the Knight, getting a door key from him. That would be useful on this map.

Colm needs healed again, and the rest of the group moves around a little to prepare for the last assault.

I trigger the Heroes in front of the boss. The first goes after Tana, who has a weak spear equipped and is unable to take him down. She missed anyway.

Eirika would have taken out the other, but her Steel Sword broke.

The third one also goes after Tana, who again can’t take him out but does get a nice Level Up out of the deal.

Both of those Sages go after Eirika this time. A smart player probably wouldn’t be in this situation, but this time the probability favors me, as she manages to dodge both of them. That is where I am going to leave off this entry. We’ve cleared most of the castle, but enemy reinforcements are right behind me and I’ve still got a lot of treasures to clear out.

I'm back after another super long delay. When I left off last time, I was halfway through retaking Castle Renais from the deranged traitor Orson. Be prepared for some support conversations and plenty of Level Ups!

Gerik takes out that pesky Sage with the Purge tome. His Level Up! isn’t excellent, but it’s not bad.

Innes goes for one of the Heroes, and gets a solid Level Up!

Cormag takes down one of his own and Level Up!

No Level Up for Tana, but she gets a Hero Crest from the one she takes down. And L’Arachel does her healing.

Kyle opens the door by the chest and then I move the rest of the crew to try to catch up to the action.

A couple of enemy longshots miss. There aren’t a lot of bad guys left.

Kyle takes out the Druid and he gets an excellent Level Up!

I have Colm run over and nab that Red Gem from the Sage and he too gets a solid Level Up!

I really need Ephraim to get to level 20 by the end of this map, so I have him take out a Cavalier for another Level Up!

The Level Ups just keep coming, with Tana getting in on the action.

Franz breaks the Level Up streak while taking out one of those Cavaliers.

Amelia gets one while taking on her opponent. She’s looking pretty good.

L’Arachel heals up Lute, who finishes off the guy that Amelia weakened.

The rest of the bad guys move up, and that Thief steals the Chest Key from Kyle, making the back end of this map a complete chore.

Lute needs healed again after her last encounter, and L’Arachel is right there. Kyle exacts justice for that theft. And finally, Cormag takes out a Priest in the corner.

I move everyone into a defensive formation to get ready for the last few enemies coming at them.

The bad guys go for Franz, who fends them off ably.

This Thief stabs futilely at Innes.

Ephraim and Amelia take out a couple of Great Knights, while I have Franz use a Vulnerary to recover from last turn.

That Thief is fast enough that even Eirika can’t double him up. She does get enough experience to get to Lv 20. And it is a pretty good Level Up! as well.

Innes is there for the finish on the Thief, and Cormag takes out the last Priest, getting a Physic for his troubles.

Another enemy turn, another enemy going after Franz.

Ephraim takes out another Great Knight and gets to Level 18 with yet another great Level Up!

Another enemy goes after Ephraim, with predictable results.

Taking out that Priest left Cormag in range of Orson, and he takes a hefty hit.

Colm gets a Talisman from the top chest.

Ephraim gets another Level Up! and is now just looking stupid good.

L’Arachel gets her healing on.

The middle chest had a Knight's Crest for Colm to nab.

I’m skipping all the pictures of everyone just moving back to the Throne room. L’Arachel keeps healing as we go, and she gets a decent Level Up!

More healing.

And even more healing.

By this time, Colm has made it back across the map to get the last chest, which contains a Tomahawk.

Now it is time for Ephraim to get down to business.

L’Arachel keeps up her quest for experience, wasting her Barrier Staff on Lute.

First, Ephraim dodges Orson’s attack and takes him out with the counterattack.

Ephraim also gets an absolutely excellent Level Up! as Orson calls his wife’s name as he dies.

And L’Arachel heals him up.

Amelia: What? But...
Franz: We are rivals, right? There's no need for the formality of titles.
Amelia: Oh, of course not, sir!
Franz: Ha ha ha... You did it again.
Amelia: Well, then... I got it, Franz.
Franz: Good.
Amelia: Ha ha... I'm not used to being so casual.
Franz: Can I ask you, what do you think of this war?
Amelia: What?
Franz: I still don't understand why Grado chose to invade Renais. Grado and Renais were allies. Their royal families were close friends. Why, Prince Ephraim and Princess Eirika are friends with your Prince Lyon. I detect something funny here. I simply cannot believe a friendship so strong could end so abruptly. How many lives have been destroyed by such a seemingly random turn of events? Perhaps the prince and princess know more of the truth, but...
Amelia: I...
Franz: Oh, I'm sorry. I don't mean to besmirch your homeland's name.
Amelia: No, it's all right. I wonder what drives Grado's ambitions now, too. I was born in a rural village and raised in Grado's countryside. Ever since I was a little child, I took pride in my home's origins. Grado, of course, is named after the legendary hero who saved all of Magvel. I thought I lived in a country that believed in justice and peace. But this war... It's something different than all that.
Franz: Amelia... I'm sorry. This war must be especially painful for you...
Amelia: I'll be fine, Franz. But thank you, though. It was wrong of Grado to invade Renais. Nothing can justify it. Grado has no right to destroy whole nations, ruin people's lives. This is all so...so wrong! I began this war as a soldier in Grado's armies. But now... I just want to believe... I want to believe in justice! I want to know I'm doing the right thing!
Franz: Amelia... I understand it all very well. Your love of your homeland... Your sense of justice, of honor... If there's anything I can do to help you, please let me know. We are rivals, but that doesn't mean we can't also be friends, right?

This one is more boring than I remembered.

I’ve got another pair ready for a support conversation.

Cormag: That still sounds so odd to me. You know, I had no idea you were a princess at first. But please, just call me Cormag. There's no need for honorifics with me.
Tana: Cormag it is, then. I had a favor to ask of you.
Cormag: What would you have me do, Princess?
Tana: I'm prone to attacks from archers when I'm on the battlefield...
Cormag: That makes two of us. It's a common problem for airborne soldiers.
Tana: I thought perhaps we could keep watch for archers and warn one another.
Cormag: Hm. Yes, you've got a good idea there. A "buddy system" of sorts. But if you saw an ally in danger, you'd warn him regardless, wouldn't you?
Tana: Well, of course! But we're so high up that I was worried... If I saw an archer, I didn't think my voice would carry to you in time. Perhaps the neighing of a pegasus or the cries of a wyvern could carry far enough to warn the others.
Cormag: Oh! I see... Yes, we might not be able to hear each other in the heat of battle. But our steeds can be louder than either of us could. And trust me, my wyvern's shriek can pierce your ear from two leagues away. A brilliant idea, Your Highness.

So Tana and Cormag are going to make a lot of noise to avoid the attention of archers. There may be a flaw in this plan.

One more support conversation is ready to go, as well.

Ephraim: I'm sorry? What do you mean?
L'Arachel: Why don't you go fight someone or break down a wall or something?
Ephraim: We all have our roles to play in this battle. I'm waiting for the right moment.
L'Arachel: Are you speaking honestly with me? Are you not simply making an excuse so that you have time to chat with me?
Ephraim: ...There's no glory in dragging out a war without good reason.
L'Arachel: It does me good to hear that. If you or any of your good men are injured, come to me at once. I'll wait for you here, and I'll heal your wounds swiftly.
Ephraim: Yes, well, that's why you're here, isn't it? We're counting on you. We fight with confidence only because we have your healing skills.
L'Arachel: Naturally!

This one I going places, I assure you.

So at last I have Eirika seize the throne.

Seth: ...This way. This is the room Orson was holed up in.
Monica: ...Darling...

Eirika: ......Oh!
Ephraim: This same magic was used to control Emperor Vigarde. She’s already dead, and her corpse was used to...
Eirika: Who? Who could...
Ephraim: You needn’t look any longer, Eirika. Let’s go outside.
Monica: Darling. Darling...darling...
Seth: ...You can’t say this thing is truly alive anymore. I’ll...
Ephraim: No... I’ll do it. ...The two of them spent every day in here, did they?

You’ve got to do what makes you happy, even if it is spending all your time cuddling with the rotting corpse of your dead wife.

Ephraim: We’ve finally made it back. Yet...
Eirika: Mmm...

Ephraim: Once I become king, I must set our country right. I doubt the people will give me a warm reception, though. I did abandon them. All I can do is try to win back their trust, no matter how long it takes...
Seth: Princess Eirika, Prince Ephraim. You should look outside.
Ephraim: Outside?

Seth: ...They’re not cheering for you. They cheer because Orson’s misrule is at an end. They cheer the possibility of a better tomorrow, not the deeds we did today. But how will the hearts of the people move tomorrow and the next day? That is for you to decide.
Ephraim: I will not let their hopes and dreams be shattered again. I will be king. Like my father before me, I will dedicate myself to their happiness.
Eirika: And I will do all I can to help, Ephraim.

Good thing we’ve got Captain buzzkill running around. They’re not cheering for you, jerks.

Ephraim: I understand.
Eirika: So we’re supposed to raise our bracelets over our heads, right?
Ephraim: Let’s try it, Eirika.
Eirika: I’m ready, Ephraim.

Wonder twin powers activate!

Ephraim: This is the Stone of Renais...
Eirika: Yes. This is one of the five stones that defeated the Demon King.
Ephraim: If Lyon had acquired our bracelets, the stone would have been destroyed by now. Together, we protected the only power that can help us stop Lyon’s insanity.
Eirika: Yes. It’s the only hope left to us. Hope for you and me, and the last true hope for peace...
Ephraim: Let’s get back, Eirika.

Not only are the twin’s bracelets the keys to finding the Sacred Stone, they are also their Class Change items. Good thing both of our royal siblings got to level 20 on the last map.

I have Eirika change class, and she gets a sizable stat boost and a horse.

The same goes for Ephraim, a new horse and a significant stat increase. Afterwards, Ephraim takes a long hard look at his life and decisions.

Eirika: I can’t believe the bracelets contain so much power...
Ephraim: I wonder if Father anticipated all of this long ago. When I was growing up, I never thought about becoming king. I only wanted to be a good soldier, a good warrior. The best on the battlefield. Father never understood what I wanted, but... I never understood him, either.
Eirika: ......
Ephraim: It was the same when Grado invaded Renais.

Eirika: Brother... I don’t think you know how well Father understood your feelings. When I last saw him, he was concerned for nothing but our safety...
Seth: Eirika is correct. King Fado asked after your exploits every day. He always told me what a fine king you would one day make.
Ephraim: Father...
Seth: Now Prince Ephraim, Princess Eirika. Please follow me. The Sacred Twins of Renais should be near the stone’s reliquary.
Seth: Ah, here we go. This lance can only be one of the Sacred Twins of Renais. Please, Prince Ephraim, take this sacred relic and feel its weight.
Ephraim: So this is one of our Sacred Twin relics, is it? I’ve never seen them. Look, there’s a name inscribed here.

That's a legendary weapon for one Lord.

Seth: And this blade is sister to the lance, the other Sacred Twin of legend. Princess Eirika, if you would?
Eirika: Of course. There’s a name carved here as well.

And a legendary weapon for the other one, though with much less introspection.

Eirika: These are the ancient weapons of our ancestors--the weapons of heroes. They were enshrined generations ago, to be used only by the king... and only in times of dire need. Such an awful power they possess, and yet we need them to restore peace. I’ve seen enough of the horrors of war, but I can’t turn my back on it. If we merely turn our eyes away, we surrender our world to atrocity. And so, I must fight. I’ll do whatever I must do to bring back the peace we once knew.

L’Arachel: This goes some way to brighten the dark shadows that loom over us.
Innes: Our countries? Sacred Stones have been shattered by Grado’s men. The Stone of Renais is our last remaining weapon.
L’Arachel: No, it’s not. You have forgotten the stone of my beloved Rausten. Remember, there were five Sacred Stones for our five nations. The Stones of Grado, Frelia, and Jehanna are gone, but hope is not. We have the Stone of Renais, after all, and that of Rausten is safe. Our road is clear, my friends. I must guide you to Rausten.
Eirika: You’re right. L’Arachel, we’re counting on you to lead the way.
L’Arachel: Of course. And you will all be welcome to stay in the palace.

Is Eirika going to take L’Arachel up on her salacious offer? I guess we will find out soon.

Next time will not be the River of Regrets, but the Tower of Valni, where I try to catch up on Support Conversations and level up a couple of lagging characters.

Default Let's Play Fire Emblem The Sacred Stones Tower Of Valni 1

Last time Eirika and Ephraim retook Renais, secured their Sacred Stone and found a couple of horsies. Before we head to L’Arachel’s home of Rausten to get the other remaining Sacred Stone and search for Lyon and the remains of the Grado army, we are going to take a detour to the Tower of Valni. It is one of Sacred Stones’ two bonus areas. It is a series of eight progressively harder maps. You play this in the post-game creature campaign you can unlock the extra characters, most of whom are the characters that die instead of joining the party. Other than just showing off the tower, I’ve two reasons for doing the Tower. The first is that between all the starts and stops of this Let’s Play, I planned my supports badly. So the Tower here is a good chance for me to catch up in those. The other reason is that Amelia and L’Arachel are still lagging behind in levels somewhat and the end of the game is fast approaching, so I intend to get them caught up. Let’s get started.

Here is map one. It is just a pile of monsters. Weak monsters. There isn’t much strategy to be had here. At this point in the story even my weakest units are much stronger than any save the boss on this map.

Getting right to work, three of my guys go after some zombies. The one Marisa killed dropped 50 gold, so that’s good I guess.

Amelia gets a critical hit and a Level Up! with strength, speed and defense.

The zombies attack and die.

Back on my turn, L’Arachel heals and Neimi takes out another one.

Marisa gets a tremendous Level Up! Maybe I should slot her in instead of Joshua.

Colm continues to be mediocre, but again his value is in his thievery not his stats.

Another Level Up for Amelia, and it is exactly the same as Colm’s, though it is much more acceptable for her, since she is already better than him.

L’Arachel gets a Level Up! She’s looking pretty good, as usual.

That clears out all the enemies except for the boss. Before I finish him off, Joshua moves next to Marisa and starts this:

Joshua: I’m Joshua. And you?
Marisa: Marisa.
Joshua: It’s a pleasure. By the way, you ever hear this?
Marisa: Hear what?
Joshua: Well, I guess it was popular for a while, way back when. But when two swordsmen met on the battlefield–even allied swordsmen– they would duel it out to test one another’s worth with the blade. So what do you say? Don’t you think it’s time to revive this tradition?
Marisa: … You want me to kill you?
Joshua: No, no, no. I’m not saying we have to fight to the death! It’s just a simple test of skill.
Marisa: …Fine. As long as I get a chance to whet my blade’s appetite.
Joshua: Er… Great! Now, what say we make this more interesting? If I win, you owe me, and if you win, then I owe you.
Marisa: Owe me what?
Joshua: …I’m not quite sure yet. How about… Ah, yes. How about you owe me a favor.
Marisa: I’m not following you.
Joshua: No?
Marisa: But it doesn’t matter. I’m not going to lose to you.
Joshua: Now you’re talking.
Marisa: Then let’s get started.
Joshua: Whoa! Hold your horses! Where’s the hurry? Let’s do this another day. After all, I like to savor the anticipation a little bit.
Marisa: I don’t get it, but fine.
Joshua: Great! We’re all set then. Next time we meet, we cross swords. Deal?
Marisa: … There’s nothing to anticipate. You’re simply going to lose.

Joshua likes to gamble, Marisa likes to kill, but they both like swords. A perfect match.

On the next turn, Colm meets back up with Neimi.

Neimi: Oh! C-Colm… I-I was just restringing my bow…
Colm: Wow. You really take after your grandfather. The way you handle your bow is great!
Neimi: Grandpa taught me how to shoot when I was little…
Colm: Yeah. Your grandfather was a really top-notch archer. I still remember how he tried to shoot me.
Neimi: W-well, Colm… That’s because you were stealing fruit from our tree.
Colm: He really taught me how frightening an archer with a good shot can be.
Neimi: But… He never hurt you. He just wanted to scare you. He missed on purpose.
Colm: No, he was aiming for me. I was just too fast for him to hit me.
Neimi: He never missed a target when we went hunting.
Colm: Well, then, I guess I’m just faster than wild animals.
Neimi: Hee hee! Ha ha ha!
Colm: Hey! You’re laughing at me, aren’t you?
Neimi: Hee hee! That’s not true… It’s just that… You haven’t changed much since then.
Colm: What’s that supposed to mean?
Neimi: J-just that you still exaggerate a lot. But now that I think about it, you’ve always been on my side.
Colm: Not always! And now especially, I can’t always be there to protect you. I have many responsibilities to this unit, you know.

Neimi seems less just a target for Colm’s teasing here, but she’s still a little wimpy.

Neimi, with a fresh dose of confidence after chatting with Colm, takes out the boss with a critical hit. Her Level Up further cements her place on the bench.

That clears the first map. The game gives you an option to proceed or back out. We are going on.

Here is map number 2. Some more enemies in this one, but it is only slightly more difficult than the first. It does vastly expand the kinds of monsters, with more skeletons and a few dogs and centaurs.

I move up, but not as far as I could, letting the enemies instead come to me. The first thing on my next turn, I do this

Franz: Why did you become a soldier?
Amelia: Hm? …… … Because I was alone.
Franz: Alone?
Amelia: When I was little, I lived in a remote village with my mother. One day…bandits raided our village and took my mother.
Franz: Oh!
Amelia: I had no father… My mother was my only family. She was so sick… and so very weak…
Franz:
Amelia: When the bandits came… I hid under the bed… I hid there…trembling…
Franz: Amelia…
Amelia: I wanted to protect her! I…wanted to be strong! Even if I couldn’t win… I wanted to fight! To protect the only person dear to me…
Franz: Oh… …… … I see now… Thank you for telling me your story. I want you to know this, Amelia. …My parents are gone, too.
Amelia: You…too…?
Franz: Yes… Well, I do have a brother, though. But I don’t remember my mother. But I swore that I would live my every moment to its fullest. I swore to my parents that I would live a long life for them and be happy. Amelia… You’re living the same way, embracing each passing moment. You believe in yourself, and your faith burns in you, making you shine. I don’t know what it is you plan to do with your life, but as long as we travel the same path, would you let me walk beside you? I have my own path to follow, I know, but… I believe we’re both walking toward the same goal.
Amelia: Franz…?
Franz: You don’t like that?
Amelia: No! That’s not it. I’m…very happy! Franz…!
Franz: Amelia, I’ll protect you.
Amelia: Franz… Thank you… I’m really happy. But…I want to protect you, too. I am a soldier of sorts as well, you know. So…let me be your shield to protect you…
Franz: And I will be your sword and fight for you. From now on.

That is A Rank for these two. Franz and Amelia aren't the most exciting characters, but in all my playthoughs they’ve turned out to be some of the best.

Next up is a support for L’Arachel and Ephraim.

L’Arachel: I’ve heard such interesting things about you from so many people. I thought it best to ask directly: You are a reckless man, are you not? It seems an attitude unbefitting a commander, wouldn’t you say?
Ephraim: Don’t speak to me that way. If I can save a life by taking a risk myself, I’ll do it. This is war, and war is risky. I have no problem with that.
L’Arachel: …Oh, dear. I’ll bet your body is just covered with scars under that armor, isn’t it? I can heal them all for you. Let me see them.
Ephraim: Thanks. Let’s see…
L’Arachel: Oh! Oh… Oh my! Wh-what are you doing?
Ephraim: I have to take my armor off if I’m going to show you the scar on my shoulder–

Our heroine L’Arachel manages to overcome the temptation of Ephraim’s scandalously bared shoulder, but how much longer can she out?

Everyone else gets their fight on. Except for Tethys, who gets her dance on.

Another fine Level Up for Amelia.

So far I’ve cleared the lower area and are moving up that narrow corridor.

L’Arachel continues to heal, finally reaching level 15 with this excellent Level Up!

There were only a pair of enemies in that corridor, they died quickly. I also missed pictures of the small group of enemies that came in behind the group. Gerik and Tethys stayed back to hold them off.

Tethys: But I’ve been dancing so much I’ve worked up quite a sweat. At this rate I may even lose a few inches off of my waistline. Who knows, maybe my figure will be even more alluring than before.
Gerik: Ha ha ha! Well, I’m not sure that’s even possible, but keep up the good work. Your dancing has had quite a restorative effect on the troops.
Tethys: Really? I’m happy to hear it. I must keep dancing then, mustn’t I? Oh, I almost forgot, Chief. I have good news, and then I have better news.
Gerik: What’s the good news?
Tethys: I hear today’s meal is one of your favorites, herbed stew.
Gerik: Oh, that is good news! It’s been quite a while since I’ve had any. And the even better news?
Tethys: In this next battle, you’ll get your hands on some sort of an incredible treasure.
Gerik: A treasure?
Tethys: Yes, that’s right, some sort of treasure.
Gerik: Ha ha ha! I see. I don’t know what it might be, but I can’t wait for it. Nor for today’s meal.
Tethys: I’m going to continue dancing a bit longer so as to work up a healthy appetite.
Gerik: So tell me, Tethys, when did you first start dancing?
Tethys: Oh… Well, that would have been…
Gerik: Hm? What’s the matter?
Tethys: Um, well… Yes, it was long ago. Back when Ewan was still young.

Oooh, Tethys has a mysterious past. It is a wonder this didn’t come at some point during the time they were mercenaries together.

Marisa is turning out nicely with yet another fine Level Up.

Does the quality of Tethys’s Level Ups matter? Not really, since she won’t be used much and wouldn’t fight if she did.

Joshua: Dang…! There!!
Marisa: Ha! …
Joshua: Whew… After a match like that, I can be happy with a tie!
Marisa: ……
Joshua: You’re better than I thought.
Marisa: You’re not too bad yourself.
Joshua: Heh… Thanks. But remember, I was at a slight disadvantage, so…
Marisa: I must admit, I did hold you at a slight disadvantage. However, we are closely matched, despite our incompatible styles. I simply couldn’t land a decisive blow. But it was all worthwhile. After all, I’ve learned, and that is worth far more than any wager.
Joshua: I see. You’re a quick one, aren’t you? How did you get that good?
Marisa: Fighting is all I have.
Joshua: You live for the sword, eh? I prefer rolling the dice to swinging the sword, you know?
Marisa: …Why is that?
Joshua: Whew… I thought you’d never ask. You’re asking how I got hooked on gambling, right? Let me see… There’s not much to tell. I guess by the time I realized it, it was already too late. I’d grown bored of everything before I discovered gambling. But then I saw it–gambling was like life, in short little bursts. Life itself is just one big gamble! That’s how I see things.
Marisa: I see. … I don’t know anything about gambling, but it was a good duel. We must try this again soon.
Joshua: What, with no wager? That doesn’t sound very fun.
Marisa: Suit yourself.

Marisa is still oblivious to everything and Joshua just seems to like gambling.

Decent work from Amelia here. She’s looking as good as usual.

Marisa grabs a dragon axe off of this guy after she crits him.

Then she takes out the boss and gets a truly sad Level Up.

And that is that floor.

On to floor three.

Another step up in complexity here. More kinds of enemies, now including those giant spiders, and our first chest. Too bad I forgot to bring Colm, that an unlock staff doesn’t unlock chests and that Ephriam can’t access the supplies when you take Eirika’s path.

I’ve pulled Artur off the bench to develop his relationship with Lute, and he draws first blood, netting a Level Up that hopefully starts a trend that gets him back on the team.

Amelia finishes off that spider, and she too gets a good Level Up.

We are just clearing our way across the floor.

This is a Level Up for Franz. He really disappointed down the stretch there, but he isn’t too bad.

Amelia gets yet another Level Up. She is doing very well.

It is time to choose Franz’s next class. A Cavalier’s options are Great Knight and Paladin. Great Knight has slightly better stat caps and can use axes. Paladins get more move and better attack animations. Overall, I’d say the Great Knight is probably the superior choice, but I like the extra move. And it’s not all that likely that Franz hits the stat caps anyway. So Franz goes Paladin.

We’ve covered about two thirds of the map now.

Hey, another Level Up for Tethys with +1s in the stats that she actually gets.

Artur took out this spider, but this is here to remind everyone that I am an idiot that did not bring in anyone or anything to open this chest.

For the last spider, Gerik takes it down, getting a not entirely disappointing Level Up. Once more before he gets to class change.

That’s all for this update. The next one will cover the rest of the tower, or at least the next couple of floors. After that it is back on with the story.
