Has anyone considered doing the opposite of this thread? Like, entering a vague description of a video game into one of those AI art generators, and see what it comes up with as an illustration? I realize I'd just be feeding the machine, but it's really tempting to see the box artwork it would create if you said, "Italian plumbers fight evil mushrooms while rescuing good ones," or "Robot child shoots lemons at dangerous contraptions with buggy eyes."

When I bought a TRIMUI Mini, it had seriously every SNES rpg loaded on. This had fewer of the deep cuts, but also some really notable exclusions—it didn’t even have Final Fantasy 4!

I have to guess that there’s a term in Chinese that gets commonly used in video game titles that can roughly mean “soul duel”, because that term seems to show up a lot in a bunch of completely unrelated titles. Like, it’s clearly what they use for the Contra series, but also shows up for some completely unrelated games, like below.

It also entertains me that they repeatedly got “demon city” for “Castlevania”, which…seems pretty close, actually?
