Which Final Fantasy job would you (like to) have?

The Goggles Do Nothing
(he/him)
In thinking about it, I would absolutely be a Black Mage, but the most useless Black Mage ever.

What? You want me to use my super deluxe Ultima spell because you think we are fighting the final boss? Buddy, I don't buy it. I'm going to conserve my MP, and toss off another charge of Fire1. Yes, I am hitting the elemental weakness, that's my job, and I'm doing it economically. Don't you have a fire sword or something you can throw? It is 10 AM, I have no idea when I am next going to get to take a nap! Stop touching those Ethers! They are for special occasions!

FF11's dragoon had a lil' dragon that assisted you and his/her abilities were determined by your subclass. So a Drg/Whm's dragon would have a healing breath weapon. That would be nice.

Hmm... if I want to get away from the "big nerd = Scholar or Calculator" thing, the best match to real world me might be an FF1 Thief? I used to fence, and I'm pretty quiet, which is kind of like being stealthy in a way that calls to mind someone who's nominally a thief despite being no better at stealing stuff than the Fighters and White Mages of the world. It's not a great job, but hey, there are worse ones out there, like Sentinel or Delita's Sis.

If I could just pick my job, I'd be a Geomancer to get magical powers without having to worry about MP.

Alchemist, White Mage and Tinkerer seem to be the jobs with the most real-world applications.

I mean, sure, Dragon Knight sounds cool, but how often in your day-to-day life are you confronted with Wyverns?

Anyway, White Mage for the sheer practicality of it

I still want to be a summoner, but considering I swordfight irl, I'd probably be a fighter (except I don't do armored fighting so not Knight).

Except I want magic, so one of the various other kinds of knight, probably. Dark knight, magic knight, paladin. FFT has some extra-cool unique knight jobs like divine knight, holy knight, or holy swordsman; I would not at all mind being Orlandu's class, I tell you what. I would definitely accept Red Mage if need be, though I'm only just starting to get into sidesword (which is just one step before rapier), so it's not the top of my list.

Geomancers usually use weird stuff like bells as weapons, BUT in FFT they can use swords. Since they're less knight-armored and more magical but can still fight with swords, Specifically-FFT Geomancer might be a top contender.

I mean, sure, Dragon Knight sounds cool, but how often in your day-to-day life are you confronted with Wyverns?

You could grab stuff from the highest shelves and jump up to your apartment instead of having to deal with stairs or elevators like a common ground-dweller.

Or if there's an awkward situation or a meeting with a boss, you could jump straight up and come down after everyone's gone.

New FF14 Sage, because I want to protect those closest to me, and im not bookish, or violent enough for Scholar or White Mage, and astrology doesn't interest me at all
