Büge

Arm Candy
(she/her)
(I have to put some restrictions on the poll or else Mega Babies will win in a landslide)

Alternatively, let's use this thread to talk about Canadian animation

JBear

Internet's foremost Bertolli cosplayer

You misspelled Odd-Job Jack Kevin Spencer.

Anyway, I don't think Yvon of the Yukon is the worst of those presented, but it's the one I least like looking at, so.

Also, Ned's Newt had a legit catchy theme song, IMO.

YangusKhan

does the Underpants Dance
(He/Him/His)
Angela Anaconda is Canadian?? That is the only thing in this list I recognize. So I won't vote, but now I'm trying to remember where that show was around in the US. Must've been Nickelodeon...

MetManMas

Me and My Bestie
(He, him)
Without looking into info on the other shows I'm gonna say the CGI kung fu chicken show.

Octopus Prime

Mysterious Contraption
(He/Him)
Monster By Mistake is one of those shows that, I believe, has completely vanished because of a lack of any archiving procedure for it, but also… nobody cared enough to be upset by that being lost so… I guess it’s already answered for it.

Chop Socky Chooks is a cartoon I couldn’t help but say “Is… this as racist as I think it is?” every single time I saw a commercial for it

Johnny Unusual

(He/Him)
The racist one.

Monster by Mistake gets points for feeling like original Casper creators discovered CGI in the 1990s and a budget of $65.

gogglebob

The Goggles Do Nothing
(he/him)
Look, if you are a nation responsible for Transformers: Beast Wars, you can lay as many turds as you want as a follow-up.

Yeah, I remember when this show materialized in the US over on Cartoon Network, and while it's not exactly Clayfighter 63 & 1/3rd duology levels of racist, it's still not good.

Octopus Prime

Mysterious Contraption
(He/Him)
It absolutely does not pass the smell test, and it should be telling that despite CanCon rulings it didn’t last more than one season even in reruns

Becksworth

Aging Hipster Dragon Dad
And here I was thinking Johnny Test whip cracks were bad, not knowing the true depths of bad Canadian cartoons apparently...

"Chop Socky Chooks" just feels racist to say and read

To be clear chook is New Zealand/Australian slang for chicken... which is weird for a Canadian/UK co-production. It DOES feel like it's dog whistling something. Like, googling it made me feel uncomfortable.

And also the show is actually racist in other ways.

His voice changed when the series aired on Cartoon Network in the United States to avoid offending Asian audiences.
Didn't work. Also, the replacement voice was Chris Hardwick. *shudder*

Also one of the co-producers is Aardman Animation. It makes sense in retrospect.

It's like, two letters off from being a racist term for Chinese people.

I feel like there was a complaint a while back that shows don't do proper intros any more but it could be worse. They could do intros.

karzac

(he/him)
I voted for Angela Anaconda, because I've never even heard of the super racist one, but Angela Anaconda's terrible theme song still plays in my head every time I hear the words Angela or Anaconda, and that is a crime that cannot go unpunished.
