Red Silvers

Pokemon Red w/ 1 Nidoran
That 3DS-related functionality makes me far more interested than I had been before... but I suppose it's pointless to try now, with the dried up community?

When I played, I used GameFAQs to get friends who were active. This when the Switch was already out.

Eh, the important thing is to get some overpowered friends early, you could likely fish some up here if you asked.

Octopus Prime

I think you’re okay with Bravely Default as long as you’ve got the friend codes of people who played the game at all, not just concurrently still feel bad that the final boss ate Shivam and his entire planet

AS FOR MY CURRENT GUESS

Botvice?

MetManMas

Me and My Bestie
(He, him)
1) Timed mission
2) Downgraded bosses
3) Less bosses than the previous game.
4) Old weapon, new use.

5) Well, really it's more timed in the sense that time effects which ending you get.

Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest
That's the one.

1) Timed mission Simon is trying to break Dracula's curse before he succumbs to his wounds that never healed because of said curse.

2) Downgraded bosses Compared to Castlevania, Death and Dracula are both really easy to defeat.

3) Less bosses than the previous game. Castlevania had a good seven boss fights (counting Dracula's second form) while the sequel only has three.

4) Old weapon, new use. The holy water. Unlike the 'fire bomb' of the previous game it doesn't leave a burning flame when it hits the ground, but it's an invaluable tool for breaking blocks and checking for fake floors.

5) Well, really it's more timed in the sense that time effects which ending you get. Basically if you want Simon to live and to get the obvious sequel hook ending you have a little over a week to beat the game.
