The Switch Online Wishlist Thread - Perks of Re-Membership

Just throwing this out here, what are some games or features you would like to see on Switch Online? Boringly obvious but I would love to play any of the Mother games, which I never did. But also, I think adding Gameboy Online would be pretty cool.

Besides all the stuff that was put on the NES and SNES Classic, I'd like to see more of the series completed. I thought for sure we'd see Ninja Gaiden II and III to coincide with the newest Ninja Gaiden game, but no dice.

I was lamenting the lack of Final Fantasy 2 (US) and Final Fantasy 3 (US) just last night, so those. I'd also gleefully accept Chrono Trigger.

Quintet's SNES games, and especially Soul Blazer. I'd love to see Little Samson, too.

  • Getting the higher tier publishers back on board who we haven't seen much from in a while: Capcom, Konami/Hudson, Bandai Namco.
  • Getting Square-Enix to support the service; having Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger, Ogre Battle, the Quintet titles, Taito's entire back catalog of NES and SNES games, and the miscellaneous of Square and Enix such as Rad Racer, The 7th Saga and more...this would be a godsend.
  • More games released more often.
  • More consoles, such as the Game Boy and Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and if the online could be sorted out for four players, the N64.
  • More imports on the NA/EU service.

I understand if this is unlikely given how the service is only $20 a year, and such a thing is more likely to be sold on eShop, but I would really like for some of these old Japanese games to receive official localizations on the service. There's a lot of cool RPGs and strategy games on the Japanese Switch Online that are nigh impenetrable and certainly less fun if you can't read the language.

Sure would be nice if we could play Shin Megami Tensei 1 in English without having to resort to pirated ROMs with a fan translation or the localization from the (sadly defunct) iOS port patched on. And there are more Fire Emblems to localize.

Speaking of, please just put that Fire Emblem 1 localization on Switch Online eventually if you're never gonna sell the game again, Nintendo. I gave you my $6 and I'm sure a lot of other people did as well. Don't Disney Vault this shit, make it available.

Also more RPGs in general would be nice. I understand if you can't get Square Enix 'cuz they'd rather charge a premium for remasters and "remasters" and don't seem to care about the Enix side so much unless it rhymes with Flagon Fest...but what about stuff like Arcana, or Lagoon? Maybe the SNES ports of Dungeon Master, Might & Magic 3 or many other cRPGs would be less of a hassle to get ahold of than Soul Blazer ever being acknowledged by SE again. And Lennus (née Paladin's Quest) was only published by Enix in America, so how about seeing if Asmik will play ball and we can pull a Breath of Fire 1 again?

I do like the random games that have shown up, surprisingly from folks like Konami. The big publishers all seem to have a ton of catalog titles they aren't going to remaster or re-release in their own collections, so it would be cool to see them show up. Of note, I always thought Nightshade looked cool in Nintendo Power but was kind of intimidated by the interface and never rented it or bought it. Played it for the first time on Switche Online and loved it, ended up beating it multiple times to see all the different routes you can take. A totally cool game I never would have touched if not for it being on the service.
