The Phantom Thieves Strike Again! A P5 Strikers Thread

To the surprise of pretty much no one, Persona 5 Strikers is finally making it's way westward on February 23! What is surprising is that it's coming out on Switch, PS4 and Steam. Which isn't that surprising when you remember their desire to get more people to play their games and Persona 4 Golden did quite well on the PC. So I guess I'm the only one surprised. Anyhoo, check the trailer out:

Initial thoughts:

4 person parties in a Musou game? Interesting...
An army of Jack Frosts! Oh crap hee-ho.
It sounds like a mix of SMT hit the weak point and musou insanity. I love it!
Two new characters? Intriguing...
Morganna turns into the cat bus and then runs mobs over? Yes!

Kinda feel sorry for Switch-exclusive owners who wanted P5 on their console, only to get the spinoff sequel instead, only to have it also ported to PS4 anyway, where it will likely run way better (if other Atlus ports are any indication.)

That said, the plot is very, very anime but serviceable enough for anyone who has stuck with the franchise so far, and makes good use of its contemporary context and P5's psychology; both new characters are good, as in, original-conceit-of-Persona good (AN ADULT WITH A PERSONA finally thank God), and the concept of a musou game fits the franchise and motifs much better than the Arena games did. I'm far more interested in this than in any of the Qs or P5 Royal.

did their best!
This one isn't written by Hashino, so here's hoping it's less shitty!
Like, no really, I'd really like to like this game. I've been doing a Persona tabletop deal with some friends (shout out to Stand Up, which you already own if you bought the itch.io racial justice bundle), and it has awoken a desire to ingest more Persona.
