The name Bump N Jump sounds familiar, but if I ever did play it it's been memory holed pretty hard.

Watched a bit of a longplay on YT. Looks like a reskinned Spy Hunter which, considering it's Vic Tokai, is not surprising.

No no no! Totally different games! Bump 'n Jump was an old Data East arcade game, a lot like this, but without the NES-era bells and whistles. I think Spy Hunter came out a year or two later...

Bump 'n' Jump was pretty great. I was more familiar with the Intellivision one, which was pretty good all things considered.
