A few months ago, I got super into watching this YouTube channel called Cracking the Cryptic, where they solve puzzles, mostly Sudoku (and variants of Sudoku). You may have seen this video of there's go viral back in the spring:
Anyway, I ended up buying one of their Sudoku apps and, while the UI kind of sucks, I've been really enjoying it. Sudoku (both watching and playing) has proven to be a very soothing pandemic hobby - it's fully engrossing and mentally involving, but entirely zero stakes. And I've really impressed myself with the way the my solving skills have improved. Watching the videos has definitely been helpful in teaching some of the more advanced techniques and it's been really satisfying to solve some incredibly difficult puzzles that would have felt impossible a few months ago.
