So today is National Bagel Day. So do you like bagels? If you do, then what kinds of bagels do you like and what do you like on them?

I married into a family of New Yorkers, so liking bagels was practically in my wedding vows. I prefer bagels with everything, or at least with garlic, and with scallion cream cheese on top.

I like a good plain bagel, everything bagels, and then jalapeno cheese bagels. I will happily eat them with nothing on them, plain cream cheese is also good, or maybe when with garlic. My favorite way to eat them those is when one is serving as the ends of a sausage and cheese breakfast sandwich.

Damn!

Celebrated a day early. I had no idea!

Anyway, I like plain bagels, or sesame seed bagels if they're toasted.

What do I like on them? I most often go for lox and cream cheese, maybe with cucumber and some S&P, but I'm not afraid to try other things. Just yesterday, I actually went for a breakfast bagel (disappointed my egg wasn't sunny like the pic), and a club bagel.

Love bagels. Don't eat them much anymore but I still think I have a freezer with a lot since my company had a big breakfast meeting at the beginning of the school year and they needed a home.

So growing up I never really liked bagels - until I had a fresh one.

Nowadays I usually go for plain, blueberry, cinnamon or more grain/wheat/whatever.

No matter what I always cover them with terrifying and heart-stopping amounts of butter cream cheese. I usually just stick with plain cream cheese.

The Great Canadian Bagel has a really good Bagel Club and I like to upgrade it with the most expensive jalapeno tomato sauce bagels.

Montreal-style bagels are my favorite, when I get the opportunity to make it up there. Sweet and chewy and delicious.

I tend to go for everything bagels, in that my favorite is really onion bagels, but finding just-onion is pretty uncommon and I actively avoid all-poppyseed or all-sesame or blueberry, and plain is boring, so everything it is!

I enjoy them toasted and smothered with plenty of pretty much any kind of cream cheese - but I'm kinda trying to watch what I eat these days and that combo is pretty high on cholesterol and carbs, so I don't have it as much as I'd like. I also like a good bagel breakfast sandwich, and while I thought for a long time I didn't like lox I recently discovered I kind of do, and that has a little more actual nutritional value, so I get it sometimes these days.

Oh and sometimes when I go up to Peekskill NY for work I can get genuine NY jewish bagels and they are freakin' delicious, though also probably a million calories.
