Resident Evil 4 Remake (2023)

Geez, that sounds tough! I suppose things would get significantly easier once you get enough spinels to buy the ticket that unlocks the Exclusive Upgrade for the Chicago Sweeper or Handcannon?

Speaking of the Handcannon, you now get it for getting on all three current Mercenary stages with any character. It’s a bizarre choice, but I‘m all for it.

You've basically got the strat there. Getting to the castle can be tough but once you've unlocked the ammo on the sweeper you've basically won with a few exceptions. My run took a few deaths but I ended with 4h 15m on the clock.

I liked doing it so much I made a YT tutorial for it. Not the only one out there but I disagreed with some of their choices so I made my own.

Yeah, I hadn't unlocked the Handcannon yet when the Mercs update dropped, so I got it that way. But unfortunately, it's not just getting the spinels. The ticket isn't in the shop until you reach the Castle (chapter 7). And with limited saves, let me tell you, my buttcheeks didn't unclench during the Mendez fight. Though if you're doing it right, your pistol (probably the Red9, since it's free?) has full power, at least by then. (I promptly sold it to get my Chicago up to full power after getting the ticket.)

Yeah, the guide I've been using suggests saving both at the top of Chapter 7 and then again before the Water Hall (also in Chapter 7), but then not again until after Ashley's segment, which feels like a LOT to clear. Though this guide also said not to save for the very first time until reaching the church before the Fish Farm/Del Lago (chapter 3). And while that seemed like a lot, since the Village fight is arguably the hardest part of the game on an S+, once I got that first save, it made sense, since the game clock was only at like 20 minutes. But you should link your guide!

I’m halfway through my New Game+ Professional run, and I have only a little over two hours on the clock. The fully maxed infinite Handcannon and unbreakable Primal Knife are helping me get through this at impressive speed. I don’t have Armor Ashley or any of the good accessories that give bonuses, so it’s not mega cheating, right?

I think a fully maxxed Handcannon breaks the game more than any of the accessories. 😂

I did my S+ Professional run, the Cat Ears are great, of course. While the Killer7 lacks the power of the Handcannon, the rate of fire and lesser kickback is so much better that it's worth the hit on power, especially since it one-hits a wide majority of enemies.

I finished my Pro run with an S Rank, unlocking several cool items. I went the first half of the game with pout a single Game Over. Then I got to the Ashley section and spent over an hour trying to get past it. The armor sure would have come in handy then! I almost quit the game for good when Leon fell through the scaffolding behind the clock tower, costing me a lot of progress.

Because I have brain issues, I think I want to attempt an S+ run on Standard before Tears of the Kingdom comes out. I think I can do it without too much trouble, since it should be much easier than what I just went through, even without the Infinite Handcannon.
