I'm somewhat familiar with his acerbic stand up but to me he was a voice actor with an instantly recognizable voice and boy did he know it.

I couldn't imagine a better voice actor for Mr. Mxyzptlk.

I think I'm going to watch that episode in his honor. Gilbert was pretty great, in his own unique, screamy way. It wouldn't have been the 1990s without him.
