It was the drawing Big Bird drew of him. Caroll Spinney drew it himself.

Shame Luis (and Gordon and Bob with him) got removed from the show some years ago but I've no doubt a big reason for that was because they knew the old human actors were getting older and could die at any time and three 'Mr. Hooper' eps in quick succession would be a bit much. I mean, Spinney himself died a few years back, but not everyone on the show can just have new voices and puppeteers take over.

At this point it's either focus on the newer, younger human cast members or hire new actors. And Gordon#3 was around for so long and such a big presence in street scenes and end episode Trash Gordon bits alike that nobody is going to buy a Gordon#4.

All that said...it's a shame Emilio is gone. He will definitely be missed.
