Oh, for crap's sake! She was supposed to reach a hundred! How perfect would it have been for her to get honored by Smucker's on NBC's Today Show? She spent six or seven years on that network thanks to The Golden Girls!

I'll be honest... sometimes the unexpected can be a blessing. I noticed a trend among Golden Girls actresses, with the first three dying in consecutive years. It was 2008 for Estelle Getty, 2009 for Bea Arthur, and 2010 for Rue McClanahan. Following that pattern, I thought we'd lose Betty White in 2011 for sure, but at least we got to keep her for another decade!

By the way, this is probably worth posting right now. It's a weird tribute to The Golden Girls, but definitely a faithful and heartfelt one.

Betty White will definitely be missed (She had so much charisma!), but it's still amazing we had her around as long as we did.

Both the final Golden Girl and the last surviving member of the all killer, no filler Mary Tyler Moore cast. RIP.

Living just long enough to get a People front page about living to 100 without actually living to 100 is, honestly, a perfect joke to bookend her legacy on.

Betty White's date of birth was recorded wrong on her birth certificate and her actual birthday was December 31st so she totally reached 100 and I won't hear a word to the contrary
