Does the image above set your heart aflutter? Does stepping into an Office Depot leave you breathless?

Shut up, I'm not weird, you're weird. But you at least like paper products, right? Right.

What is an Office Supply?

I'm using the term inclusively, not exclusively. School supplies? Check. Stationery? Check. Stuff I haven't thought of? Checkmate, atheists. If you think it might count, it counts. I'm not going to gatekeep. We'll let democracy do the gatekeeping here.

That's it! That's all! Send me your top 25 Office Supplies by the end of the month. I'll take it from there.

Are specific product links okay? I have specific pen brands I have STRONG opinions about, most generic "archival ink" pens won't cut it.

Get as specific as you want! As with Snack Foods, I may roll up specific selections into more general categories, but I will call out the more specific items when that happens.

I didn’t vote in the which-list-should-we-do thread because although most of the options sounded pretty good I wasn’t sure I’d be able to make lists for any of them, but my office supplies list is coming together pretty quickly. And I don’t even work in an office!

Tempted to make a list consisting mostly of specialised tools that I use in my “office” (operating room), but they’d get no other votes and wouldn’t make it I guess.

I'm intrigued. You ought to toss in one or two at least.

I was having similar thoughts for stuff I constantly use in lab. We might have some overlap, there are a number of science people here and the categories might be consistent.

@Mogri how about if a person would need special training/certification to handle/order it (chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, radiation training, etc) then it doesn't belong on the list, but if anyone can just order the supply (forceps, lab tape, etc) it's okay? I don't want to make this too complicated for you.

Pretty sure nobody else would nominate *my* job-specific supplies, unless we've secretly got a lot of machinists around here I didn't know about... (Might put one on anyway just for fun.)

So like I said, I'm not going to forbid anything here. If potato chips or Mountain Dew is an office supply to you, then throw it on the list. Don't let me tell you how to live your office life.

I love the variety of answers I'm getting. Some of these have no chance of making the top 50, so I'm going to have to do highlights on the weekends or something.

You've got a week left! Send 'em in.

I'm finally getting started on this and realizing my day job has made my set of office tools extremely eclectic! A lot of the weirder stuff certainly won't make top 50 but hopefully a few can make fun honorable mentions.

Oh man! Is it the last day of the month already? Well, I'm not ready to start writing, and I've got a nice spreadsheet set up to instantly tabulate results, so let's extend the deadline to end of day Friday, June 4. If you were still noodling around with your list, this is your last chance. Last I checked, your #1 entry was guaranteed to make the list -- but just barely. Make your mark on the list (with your writing implement of choice)!

My #1 pick is *definitely* not gonna get any other votes, so it'll be a good test of whether we got enough lists in to bump it off or not...

(I guess it could also be construed as a commercial promotion, but I assure you my intent was not to expect fellow tyrants to suddenly drop four grand on a thing made by a company I work for... I just think it's cool and it's on my office desk right here!)

If my brother were voting, he would've voted for your #1 (though not, perhaps, by brand name). It's turned into a source of income for him as a side hobby.

Anyway, as soon as the very first item on the list is up, you'll know whether any single-vote items made the list.

Which seems to be just any old thing based on the feedback you gave me on my list...
Some of us are more particular than others. That said, circumstances are subject to change as more results come in.

My list was surprisingly short. I'm looking forward to a glimpse into the sort of work you guys do and how you like gettin' stuff done.

The end of May marks the end of the school year. So while I had a lot of strong opinions on office school supplies, I forgot to cobble together a list. I still look forwards to reading everyone's thoughts and opinions though! Hopefully the noble Mono Plastic Eraser will place at some point, because that would have been my #1.
