Meredith Hagner screaming, "The twink! The twiiiiink!!!" - Search Party thread

This show is genius. Haven't properly binged something in a while, (always alternate between single episodes at a time) but this show is so d*ng good. Caught up on the last season and a half in time for the last four episodes tomorrow. (of the season?) A great showcase for all its leads and recurring characters, (Shalita Grant!) also an extremely high number of randos you've seen on twitter. Pat Regan's guest appearance in a just-released was very fun.

How to describe it? Well, it's just about some friends making good decisions. idk really know if I'll have anything to post aside from "good" but I believe in more threads.

Oh, I'm inbred by the way! It's official.

Well, I loved it. Final stretch of episodes was a really great mixture of hilarious and bittersweet. I of course trust the creative team to nail it if they get another opportunity for more but this does work as an ending, ambiguous cliffhanger and all. The episodes were very distinct which I know I'm supposed to like in this age of endless bingeing, but also I did just binge this. It's bingeable!

Enjoyed
  • that goofy-ass chase with susan sarandon
  • musical engagement
  • where that book came from
  • and more

I'm through the first two seasons and still gotta catch up. The best way I can think to describe it is genre pastiches (Scooby Doo mystery, Hitchcock thriller), but starring millennials who aren't even remotely equipped for these genres, because our fucked-up world hasn't prepared them for it. I love it, and all four leads are amazing.

Wait, I think it's ridiculous that the trial took place i'm the United States? Not that I have any idea what a TV Canadian - Quebecois even - murder trial would look like. All for the best.

This show is very accurate and more than a little distressing satire. I don't think I can keep going past season 2 right now.

I find a lot of cringe comedy and anti-hero stuff hard to watch, but I can't get enough of this. Well, I mean, 40 half hour episodes over 5 years works for me. I'm astonished by how much I liked the creators' film Fort Tilden which has a lot of similar elements. (also, Clare "Chantal" McNulty is one of the leads)
