I skipped Devil May Cry 2 and 3

elementary my dear baxter
I want to get to 5 in a reasonable time frame an I've thus far only completed the first game in the series (well that and the Ninja Theory version) and figured that while I have heard a lot of and love and praise for 3 that 4 will get me acquainted with the Nero character. I remember watching my friend play the beginning of this when I was younger and it completely bounced off of me but something changed between then and now because now I'm totally eating this game up and sold by the tutorial mission alone. Dante being played as a mysterious antagonist at the start is fun as hell.

What does irk me though is that the Special Edition I have seems to have some enforced DLC that dumps a truly uncalled-for number of upgrade resources on me at the very beginning of the game with apparently no way whatsoever to opt out or prevent its install altogether. I'm just stuck with it. That's a shame, I wanted to have a more vanilla experience.
