I made a Famicom game! (Sort of!)

Man I've been excited to tell y'all about this for a while. Today the 2021 My Famicase exhibition opened, and I'm in it!

If you've never heard of this, it's an annual art show at Super Meteor, a little shop and studio in Tokyo. Every year, they put on an exhibition of Famicom cartridge label art designed by artists from all over the world. Ever since I heard about it back in 2014 or so, I've wanted to create something for this show. And this year, I did!

I'm thrilled to have been able to do this. And there are 252 other entries to peruse, so go check 'em out!

It's up to the viewer's interpretation. I had a vague idea which aligns with both of y'all's thoughts, something with cute little sprites, mazes, and maybe some block-pushing.

Does the name Aiboi have another meaning besides being a homophone of Eye Boy?

In Japanese, Aibo (愛慕) can mean "love, attachment, or adoration," and this has some connection to Aiboi's little broken-heart pin he has on his leg. Also, if you extent the O and add a "ru" sound, it becomes "eyeball." My initial submittal was "Let's Go Aibo," but the showrunner informed me that Aibo was an existing copyright of Sony, so I made a small change.

Congrats, that looks great. Had I seen this as akid, I would have totally wanted to play this. I mean, I still do, but it really hits all the right points.
