How would you demake [insert game here]?

At first I was going to put this in the riff thread quarantine zone but I decided against that. I think this idea actually has some legs.

So ASandoval has a thread about taking an older game and making a new/modern game out of the old one. But what about taking a more modern game and taking it back in time to an earlier console generation? How would you do that? How far back would you go? And would you honor the technical limitations of that era or would you ignore them but still try to evoke the technology and games of that era?

Unfortunately right now I can't quite think of any game that I would give this treatment to. Can you think of any?

The first thing that comes to mind is, that I would demake every 3d rpg, and demake it to look like Breath of Fire III. Or at least in beautiful 2d style.

Not quite serious, this just immediately popped into my head.

Bring back Killzone, but just go full campy boomer shooter with it. Seriously Sony, I'm supposed to take the glowy eyed storm troopers as serious complex villains?

Hi Fi Rush prequel that looks like PS2 game, has bad acting, and even worse early 2000s nu-metal.

Fintasy Fantasy: Just go back to PS1-era style, but in hi def.

ARMs: Just make a more over the top Punch Out!

"Demake" The Legend of Zelda: Spirits Tracks by making it more in the style of Wind Waker in terms of visuals and gameplay.

Bloodborne Kart already looks great. I’d go for Elden Ring in that visual style, too.

(He/Him + RT/artee)
port Super Mario RPG to the ZX Spectrum

it'll be a perfect fit
