I’ve also found the harder versions of a few other bosses by going back to them and entering the dream. I beat Lost Kin after many tries and fiddling with my charm setup repeatedly, but Failed Champion and Soul Tyrant remain elusive. I’ve been trying not to look things up in this game, but I had a look at the wiki pages for the latter two and their HP totals suggest I need to land just an absurd number of hits to beat them.

Otherwise I feel like I must be getting pretty close to the end of them game - I got the King’s Mark which from its description I thought would let me through the black barriers but instead seems to have just made a mess of the forgotten crossroads. I expect it’s also going to open the palace to me. I haven’t taken on any of the three bosses which I assume will unlock the final boss yet. At the moment I’m reluctant to take on anything challenging because I have about ten grand and I don’t want to lose it. But I also don’t want to grind for the rest of the cash I need to get another unbreakable charm. I found the banker and got my money back, which helped but I probably should have waited to do it so I’m not carrying it around all the time.

For the record, all versions of the game have the DLC, it was added to the game in chunks and they never charged for it. You can still get 100% without doing everything, though, because now the game goes to 112%! I would never tell anyone that Godhome is essential content for getting a complete Hollow Knight experience, but I will say that it goes beyond being a simple boss rush. For folks who want to spend more time with the game, it's actually pretty rewarding. But then, I've played HK like 20 times and I still haven't done everything there is to do...

Godhome is really, really oriented toward the top 1% of most obsessed players who want to be challenged to the absolute max by the game, it is not tuned to the average player in any way whatsoever

I beat the game! 43 hours (!), 99% completion. Pretty sure I got the bad ending - I found the palace, even went in, but didn’t actually take it on before reaching the end. So I guess I’m not done yet. There are also a few optional things I haven’t done: the third stage of the colosseum, the flower quest, I’m missing two charms. Not sure I can be bothered with that stuff. Maybe I’ll look up the missing charms.

Speaking of charms, my late game loadout varied a bit but pretty much settled on improving my movement and attack. I was using the strength boost, the range boost, the walking speed boost, the one that makes the dash do damage (I think a couple of late bosses I mostly hit using that), and the one that gives soul when you take damage. I didn’t use magic or the nail techniques much, mostly just plain strikes, saving my soul for focussing, not that many late bosses allow you to do much of that.

I really enjoyed this game - it consumed almost all of my spare time since I started it. Looking forward to playing a bit more and then getting my time back.

It was the Hollow Knight, but I have now been taking on the Radiance without much luck. Wish I didn’t have to redo Hollow each time. The visit to Super Meat Boy territory to unlock this boss was unexpected - kind of fun but I wasn’t sad to see the end of it.

Got it! Must have had like 20 attempts, got it to the fourth phase four or five times, then reached the last phase for the first time with one mask left and managed to hold it together and finish it off. I was right in the line of fire of its next attack when the final hit landed, too - a near thing.
