Played some more. I don't think I actually got better at combat (still mainly button mashing, maybe I'm a bit overleveled?), but for now, it works. I'm at the mines now, that first, real dungeon. Had a Blue Screen of Death two times in one of the rooms, every time directly after picking up one of the things for the side quest (a pickaxe, I think). PC still works, and not picking it up made everything go fine, so, yay? I guess I should take a look at my PC, or maybe just get a new one. After six years, it might be about time.
Anyway, the quests are fine, but feel very basic and MMO-y, in that they are pretty uninteresting. Nothing really interesting happens in them, even though the one with the goat kid was a bit funny. The parcour ones have been fun.
Exploring is pretty great, and I love how much there is to find, including good equipment. Haven't bought any, for now, and assume that will not change much. I'm still a bit overwhelmed by my new fire powers, or at least the special attacks with them. The puzzles are pretty great, not too hard yet, but already far from trivial. The best comparison seems to be Lufia II, except for the fact that many already involve timing, which might be a problem later on.
The graphics are great, and I still feel remembered of Megadrive graphics. Like, they look like what I REMEMBER Megadrive graphics to look like, even if they are way better. Love that style, and I hope we will get more games with artstyle that mimics 16-bit era style now.
