It's July 20, that means only one thing: It's 720 day!

Talk about skateboarding's dark ages before Tony Hawk.

Which is your favorite version of 720?
Mine is the NES version. Mostly nostalgia, but also how the game nails a surreal feeling with the bizarre music, sparse streets, killer bees, and a hero who almost never stops smiling.
And how the terrible sound design makes the music stop whenever there's a sound to play.

This song pops into my head a few times every day. 720!

This game is a nightmare to play on the Xbox One, via Midway Arcade Origins. If there's one thing that can be said in favor of the NES game, it's that it was designed specifically for home play. Midway Arcade Origins tries to more closely replicate the arcade game's screwy un-centerable joystick, with less than spectacular results.

I think the only version of this I’ve played is the C64 one. I have this vague idea that the game was banned because of too many broken joysticks, but in retrospect maybe the ban was local to my grandad’s house.

This is almost playable on my arcade legends if I use the trackball but it’s a struggle

Loved me some skate or die on NES.

Which is your favorite version of 720?

It has to be the arcade game. The joystick built for performing 360s and 720s is very cool. The arcade cabinet for that game is also gorgeous.

I think my favorite skateboarding game is Skate or Die. Joust, the downhill run without punks (people with mo hawks) and the downhill run with punks were great little games.
