Pick whichever game you feel like, and tell us how you'd change things up.

Mega Man 2
  • Metal Blade: This is the poster child for overpowered buster replacement. I don't mind it that much, but I'd make a few more enemies immune to it and halve its ammo.
  • Bubble Lead: It just doesn't feel very good to use. Increase its damage and give it a small explosion on hit.
  • Atomic Fire: Needs a reason to be used outside of bosses. Reduce the energy cost of the charged shot, and maybe increase the ammo overall.
  • Flash Stopper: Short of changing this into the Bright Man version, all I'd really do is allow it to be turned off at will.
  • Everything else is fine. I personally would buff Quick Boomerang, but a lot of people swear by it.
Mega Man 10
  • Thunder Wool: Make it shoot lightning from the time it's fired instead of just at the top of its arc. That plus maybe lower energy consumption is all it needs to have a good niche; you don't even need to take away the annoying "cloud dies when it touches anything" property. As it stands, you will never use this weapon against anything but Pump Man.
  • Rebound Striker: Needs more ammo. It's a nice weapon in theory, but it runs out too fast.
  • Triple Blade: Needs less ammo. The best weapon in the game by a landslide.
  • Commando Bomb: Do a little more damage on direct hit. This is an incredibly strong weapon if used correctly, but the alternative is really disappointing.
  • Solar Blaze/Chill Spike: Allow more than one on screen at a time. Two is probably enough.
  • Wheel Cutter: Make it start moving immediately when fired.
  • Water Shield is great. No changes.
Mega Man 8
This is actually one of the better weapon sets in the franchise. Aqua Cannon should automatically rapid-fire, and Homing Missile should be a bit stronger against regular enemies, but that's about it.

The latter, but that's not a weapon change. I think the weapon is fundamentally fine.

Mega Man X
  • Shotgun Ice/Chameleon Sting: Why are these so weak against normal enemies? Double or even triple their damage and call it a day.
  • Rolling Shield: If you're going to call it a shield, it should really soak up enemy projectiles.
  • Electric Spark: This weapon's biggest crime is that it's boring. Instead of a standard projectile, what about two shockwaves crawling left and right that travel along walls?
  • Storm Tornado: Honestly way too powerful for what it is. Vastly reduce the amount of ammo.
  • Everything else is OK. Fire Wave could maybe use a bit more range, but for how strong it is, it doesn't really need it.

Mega Man 1 (GB)
  • The MM1 bosses all provide good weapons, given that they can pierce enemies for multihits.
  • Quick Boomerang -- Needs a damage buff to match the piercing power of the MM1 weapons.
  • Atomic Fire -- Decrease the charging time and ammo usage, and have the charged shot be able to pierce super armor (perhaps as an alternate weakness for Wily, even)
  • Flash Stopper -- Be able to stop this at will (though I think that is possible already with how pausing works in this?)
  • Bubble Lead -- Damage/speed buff, maybe
  • Mirror Shield -- Decrease energy usage to under 1 unit per use, and let it deflect those spinning wheel enemies
  • Carry -- Decrease energy usage
