Games you want to play, that don't exist

There should be Pokemon: Oops, All Eevees! where all the possibility type combination Eeveelutions exist and they're the only pokemon in that region.

I want a Pokemon game, that has no form of combat. Some form of turn-based puzzle game would be nice, where you maybe place Pokemon, and make them evolve, at the right time, or something? Dunno, a puzzle game that is based on the differences between Pokemon, instead of one where Pokemon are just arbitrarily added.

The other game I would like to play would be something, that is focused on collecting them all, with no fighting involved. Maybe just with a focus on the first gen mons. Like, instead of fighting, you befriend the different mons by learning about them, and solving puzzles (like finding some food that Bulbasaur wants, or whatever), making them want to come along with you. Basically an adventure game, but without moon logic, and with puzzles that take into account how the different pokemon are. And maybe use the abilities of Pokemon you already have into abilities you could use.

Maybe also just a "Tales of Kanto" thing, where you play through little stories of inhabitants of the world. Dunno, sounds like something for an Anime instead of a game.

Edit: Thanks for making me aware that I already created the thread, Peklo. Dumb brain.
...ever tried Animal Crossing?

Or is it specifically something with actual Pokemon you're after?

Yeah, it would need to be Pokemon. The regular games just don't work for me that well, anymore, and I'd like it to focus on stuff that I find more interesting. Also, nostalgia.

I sometimes want to play one of these games, but mainly to collect them all, which was always what interested me more than the other stuff, like anything that has to do with getting the ones with the best values, or even training them. And the way these games work, there would be way too much grinding involved, even for a single generation. There are hacks with all the pokemon, but I once tried that, and again, just tons of grinding - I soon gave up. Also, most Pokemon are captured in the same way, which is pretty boring in itself, I think. I would just like to do something specific to that type of Pokemon, with a little story attached, not run around some grass until it might pop up, and then do the same thing as I do with every other Pokemon.

Not to say that's a bad way to do it, for an RPG. But that's why I would like it to be a different genre.

A sci-fi game that's all about mundane sci-fi life.

No space shootouts, no fight or flight against alien monsters. You live on a space station and your job is moving inventory to where it needs to go on the station and occasionally transporting cargo to other planets. Your starship is for moving boxes to other planets, not playing Space Invaders. If you use a mecha at all it's basically a forklift with legs.

The majority of the residents you meet are various species of alien and different kinds of robots. You choose your species (or model in case of robots) and preferred pronouns at the start of the game. There are options, you don't have to look human or even humanoid.

You can get to know the residents and those of other planets as you do your job, and partake in various tasks around the station and on planets you visit. Your transporting job is on commission so you have room to mess around. Work out at the gym or play games at the club or get drunk or go racing, whatever.

You can buy amenities for decorating your quarters, clothes, mods (both physical and mechanical), and food and you can give gifts to other residents. You can also upgrade to a larger quarters if you wish. Or a better starship. Or a more efficient cargo mecha.

On a tangential note, this got me thinking about Steambot Chronicles. Even though it still had a good deal of fight battling in it, you could still kit your mech out to just haul stuff around to make money if you want. It really had a unique vibe where you're just some dude bopping around in a fleshed out world without constantly having to struggle against some big bad, and you could just spend your time shooting pool, playing your trumpet on a street corner for loose cash, or wtf ever. Game even had a damn stock exchange.

I'd love to see a version of this with a true open world engine, and not just a bunch of small locales taped together with loading screens.

given that irem went out of business before they could release the sequel and hiroshi takai has long since been conscripted to direct extremely linear action rpgs, hidemaro fujibayashi and eiji aonuma are the only people still brave enough to take charge on making a huge game where you don't do have to do anything

going Bomb Rush Cyberfunk with it

Sorry for the digression, but I love this phrase. I haven't played the game, I know hardly anything about it, but I now absolutely want to describe people as "going bomb rush cyberfunk" about things.

Examples (please pardon the fact that I am deeply uncool and also over 40):
1.) -"Hey, did you hear the new album from <band>?"
-"Yeah! I was blown away! They went totally bomb rush cyberfunk with it."

2.) "My eleventh cup of coffee is going to give me the energy I need to go bomb rush cyberfunk on this data set."

3.) "REVIEW: 5/5 <developer> lets loose with a bomb rush cyberfunk spin on an old classic"

This is pretty bomb rush cyberfunk of you.

Yes please to indie slightly-modernized Steambot times.

Also, Felix, there are, like, *puzzle* game spinoffs and such where you collect all the Pokémon without battling per so, but I get that’s not exactly what you mean. I’d be down for it too.

Look, I'm not going to sing the praises of the Clayfighter franchise but I miss the use of quasi-stop motion elements in video games. Mostly because I was a big fan of Trog.

Oh, and more FMV games please.

I would like a Skullmonkeys-esque gonzo claymation platformer with 100% less Doug TenNapel now that you mention stop motion.

A Mega Man RPG or Action RPG with a fantasy theme instead of sci-fi. (Or do we already have that with Shovel Knight?)

Theaterhythm: Final Bar Line—Season Pass 2

Also I just really like the basic rhythm gameplay of Theaterhythm (good balance of tricky inputs while still being able to groove to the songs) so I'd take all sorts of non-Square Enix versions of it. Xenoblade! Elden Ring! Bring it all on.

There are many puzzle games ALMOST like the bomb defusal games in Ultimate Stuntman (NES), but I've never run into anything EXACTLY like it with the different numbers and spaces that you have to touch multiple times to defuse the bomb. I would love a game with nothing but these, I have no idea why I like them so much more than similar games or puzzles where you have to cover all the spaces without backtracking. The fact that you can reuse some spaces more than once adds some extra element to it that tickles my brain.
