EVERHOOD: An Ineffable Tale Of The Inexpressible Moments of Divine Truth

Kzinssie

(she/her)

I just finished playing Everhood (at least the normal ending), an RPG... sort of? It's a genre bender. If you watch the trailer above, your thoughts might be "that's a cool battle system", "the aesthetic direction is interesting", and "that sure is an Undertale". Those are all correct thoughts to have! I went into it thinking it would basically just be a third-rate Undertale clone with some neat aesthetic direction and cool battles, and it succeeds on that front, but it's not only that. That's where this thread gets tricky, because I don't want to describe anything else about the game - it's best to go in as blind as possible. So, I guess this thread is just to inform everyone here that it exists, and it's worth playing, because this really deserves an audience beyond people who are willing to go in on an Undertale clone on its own merits. You can get it on Steam, itch.io, or the Switch eShop, which is where I played it - I'd honestly recommend it on console just because some of the music (and by extension the fights that go with it) are enhanced greatly by surround sound.

If it's not clear - if you have played it, and you know anything about what happens, please spoiler tag it.
