Do cross the streams - video game crossovers you want to see

There have been quite a few video game crossovers throughout the years but I'm sure there are some that haven't happened that you would like to see. So what video game crossovers do you want to see and how do you think they should be done?

One interesting crossover that came to my mind is Contra X Metal Slug. It might be difficult to merge the platforming of Contra with the "looseness" of Metal Slug but I think it could be done. Reconciling the different visual designs of the two series would also be a bit of a challenge.

I swear we had this thread already.

Anyway, Metroidvania. But should it be Samus in a Metroid infested Dracula castle or a Belmont in space?

The Castlevania series has yet to explore the future. It's ripe with possibilities.

Aria of Sorrow was set in 2035.
True but you still explored more or less the same Castle with the same type of monsters and stuff. About the only really futuristic thing in the game was a hard to obtain weapon.

Both.

I always thought Boktai's Store-Brand-Metal-Gear x Castlevania mix was a fun combination that people generally skip discussing in favor of the sunlight sensor mechanic (which is understandable). I feel like the Solid Snake 'em Up style could fit many other franchises, but I'll choose Fire Emblem just because I can.

ETA: and if that's actual Solid Snake in there, instead of a generic fantasy stand-in, that's even better

Maybe not a literal crossover, but a genre fusion I don't think I've seen and I think would be a blast:
Valheim x Armored Core, mecha survivalcraft!

Different parts and builds for mining, construction, fighting
"survival" having to do with keeping your elaborate walking tank maintained and fueled
upgrade your reactor to be more efficient but need rarer, more highly processed fuels
heck, it could even have the "stone age and onward" arc by beginning with some jank rusty steampunk mecha that burns wood!

Tired: Mario x Sonic platformer

Wired: Mario Kart x Sonic with (original, not Sumo leftovers) Sonic the Hedgehog themed tracks

Inspired: Wario Land x Rouge the Bat game with optional competitive co-op multiplayer where the two are rivals going after the same treasure

A crossover that I think would be interesting is placing classic Mega Man in a Kirby game. But Rock's power copying would have to be modified to fit with the gameplay that's in Kirby games. I'm not sure if Rock's visual design would have to be modified to fit in the world of Kirby or if it could be dropped in without any changes.

Maybe not a literal crossover, but a genre fusion
I didn't mention this in the opening post but crossovers can take many forms so don't limit yourselves to just the most straightforward ones. Is there a weapon, powerup, mechanic, enemy or whatever else from one game that you want to see in a different game? Then that's fair game for this thread.

This strikes me as vaguely similar to Brave Fencer Musashi, where you could copy any enemy ability and keep it indefinitely, but you could only hold one at a time. Unfortunately, the game didn't give you much reason to give it a lot of use outside of puzzles. It's the Mega Man 4 problem again: your main weapon is good enough not to bother, and the other weapons vary widely in effectiveness.

Does Zelda Pinball count as a crossover, or is that just a general game idea?

That's a good question. I don't think it counts as a crossover in the narrow sense (unless the crossove is with a specific video game pinball series) but maybe it does in the broader sense that I said was allowed a couple posts ago.

And adding that broad allowance does mean that there could be some crossover between this thread and the games you want to play that don't exist thread.
