Uh oh, look out Mega Man, I'm detecting a hostile new Maverick close by! It's...

~He Posts a Lot About a Mobile Video Game~
So, this game has some pretty deep Gacha Bullshit in it, and I thought I'd take the opportunity to effort post about it. You might reach the point where the story fights start kicking your ass and you get Retired pretty quickly. What're you supposed to do about it? That's where the Gacha Bullshit RPG Systems come into play, and even for a gacha game, it's not at all obvious what you should be upgrading to hang on to your life.
Upgrade your DiVE skills ASAP and also AMAP (as much as possible). There's a bit of non-obvious UI going on in the DiVE skill screen, where it says to unlock the next skills you need "Total Level 25." You might think this is Player Level 25, because a lot of stuff unlocks with Player Level, however, I assure you this means "Total Level of All DiVE Skills." And, since you only start with the 1 skill (Electric Wall or w/e), get that sucker to max level 25 as soon as you possibly can. The cumulative level of all your DiVE skills add to your base stats A LOT, and it doesn't matter which ones you bring with you to a stage because it's entirely cumulative. You get the currency for upgrading these mostly from daily missions, but you can also buy them with gacha currency which TBH isn't a bad idea at all to start off with, because they can give you a HUGE jump-start on every stat you need.
- Armor unlocks at Player Level 20, which is also when co-op unlocks (and co-op missions drops armor parts). Make sure you fill out all six of your armor slots with the same Set Bonus armor. It doesn't matter what their stats are yet (it's all Diablo-style RNG stats anyway), you just want the set bonus and something in those slots giving you stats.
Weapon Chips and Player Cards are the next things that boost your DEF/HP. Weapon Cards are better to focus on because, unlike Cards that attach to Players, multiple weapons can use the same Chip at the same time. The first one of these you get is Maoh The Giant, and you won't get new ones too often, so it's good to dump a lot of your starting resources into leveling these Chips up. Player Cards are kind of whatever until you get the more unique and character-specific ones from the various shops, but if you get any A-rarity Cards, those aren't a bad idea to get like 10 levels in or so and stick on your favorite character for now.
And that's mostly it for Defense and HP. Attack power, some HP, and crit rate are coming from Upgrading your weapons (not to be confused with Leveling Up your weapons, oh no, that's something else entirely but also good to do). I haven't committed a whole lot of resources to weapons yet, and when I do I mostly want to upgrade Attack, HP, and crit, in that order. But it is crucial to know that your sub-weapon still adds to your stats even when it's not the active weapon you have out, so keeping both equipped weapons strong is important.
With these tips, you too can walk right up to the Storm Eagle event stage and one-shot the poor Maverick with the Ray Storm DiVE skill because it crits twice for 20k damage!
All credit goes to Octo for coming up with my Maverick name at the top of this post
