Beat my first boss battle in the expansion. Very much still Cuphead, and enjoying it.
I bought it, and then I remembered how angry the core game made me feel back in 2017. I'm hesitant to spend my weekend game time in that state.
That said, I've been looking forward to this for years and will probably jump in anyway.
I'm better than I thought - I fought my way back up to King Dice on the Steam Deck. Then I got through the gauntlet of bosses, only to get a startover and be killed by that dumb fucking bunny. Heartbreaking. The impending release of the DLC inspired me to dive back into Cuphead. I was able to get past my prior roadblock (the Dragon), but now I've got a new roadblock, namely King Dice, but maybe not for the reasons you would expect: because of the nature of the boss the load times on the Switch are pretty unbearable. I also own Cuphead on Steam, so I'm wondering if I should play it on the Steam Deck (where presumably the load times are better), but I would have to rebeat like 15 bosses, so I'm not sure what to do.
Revisited and beaten! I think the fight with the giant is the easiest one, we beat that on regular fairly quickly. For the battle above the key was buying one of the new weapons.Yeah, we went back to the first island and redid one of the bosses, took us several tries to beat while we remembered everything and I got used to how Ms Chalice works but we did it. Then we tried the boss in the cave to the south, even with the new charms from the shop and one of us as Ms Chalice after a bunch of tries we couldn't get past Phase 2. Switched to Simple and beat it in one try so we'll probably revisit that battle later, but still having a fun time, the bosses are so dang creative!
The flying dog one is fun but dunno if we'll beat that third phase.
Yeah, took me a few tries but he is down.Last one being the chef?
I'm pretty sure we don't have enough skill/control to execute that, but will definitely be giving it a try, thanks! As were added for some of the original game fights with the 1.2 update, that one has an alternate phase that, imo, is much easier. I got it on accident once playing co-op and then just now while replaying single player, looked it up. In the second phase, only shoot the the four dogs until the smoke from their jetpacks turns grey, DO NOT KILL THEM. That will completely change phase three.
I'm pretty sure we don't have enough skill/control to execute that, but will definitely be giving it a try, thanks!
