So I’m cautiously optimistic about Warioware? Like, the idea that different characters might interact with micro games differently sounds neat, but also might constrain the overall creativity of said micro games if we have to control interchangeable player avatars in each of them.

I'm hearing rumors that Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp (clever title) is a Wayforward production. I believe it, looking at the juice in those animations. @Tomm Guycot, do I detect your occult hand in this?

I don't think most of these games appeal to me for the Ninty show, but they had more going for them than most of the other big publishers/platforms. Mildly surprised they had something to show for BotW2, but what they did show didn't amount to much.

BOTW2 Looks like it's got plenty of WEIRD SHIT and super nuts movement tech.

Also it makes perfect sense that it took them this long to make it since the big time save "We're reusing the Hyrule we already made" now comes with the obvious caveat "We built an entire second hyrule floating in the sky over the first one."

Weirdest highlight of E3 so far has been finding out that that one dude from the Just Dance demo in the Ubisoft presser was tweeting about how slavery was a good thing as recently as like, Saturday.
What the fuck.

Most Likely To Happen
More gruesome torturous shootmans/stabmans I don't care about The Microsoft feed had a lot of this kinda thing, unsurprisingly.

A Smash Bros. character reveal Kazuya coming to Smash!

Maybe some actual footage of games we already know about that had teasers We got to see a fair amount of SMTV and a few seconds of BotW2, among other things!

What I Want
More remasters and remakes of 90s Square Enix games (including some we don't know about yet) Square Enix was mostly a bust and no surprises from them on Nintendo's feed, but hey, more faithful(?) remasters of the first six Final Fantasies are pretty nice. If only they had a console confirmed instead of just Steam and phones.

More indie walking sims, especially sci-fi ones Didn't watch the indie show, but maybe something popped up there?

A new Mario A new Mario Party compiling mini games from old Mario Parties. Again.

New Amiibo cards for Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nope.

I played through Stranger of Paradise: Chaos Meme and filled out their survey. One of my comments was for playable female character but I'm not holding my breath there. The game was pretty unimpressive, but it's an early beta thing so that's sort of to be expected. I think Normal is probably too hard for people not great at action games. Didn't try Hard and probably won't. You can give the dude something other than a t-shirt.

I'm bummed that the leaked Marvel XCOM game didn't get formally announced. I want details!

My few thoughts on E3 2021:

I would genuinely like to know if a new Switch model will be released soon!

That Metroid game looks neat. Samus Returns was very cluttered, with far too many upgrades that did too similar things. Overall, it was decent to good, so here’s hoping Dread will be good to great?

There’s going to be a sequel to The Outer Worlds. I liked that game.

I honestly didn't think a new switch model was even in the horizon to begin with (it's not like they need a new model to bolster sagging sales/interest - it's still very popular!) and even if they had planned one, a new one isn't coming any time soon thanks to the microchip shortage.

There seems to be hints at a new model of the Switch is nearing production if insider leaks are to believed, but Nintendo themselves have never given an indication they were anywhere close to being ready to announcing anything.

I suspect the reason they're keeping their cards face down is because this new Switch is going to be more than just a enhanced model of the old system. How old will the Switch be in 2022? Five years old. What's the life span of most Nintendo consoles? Five years. With more powerful systems by Sony and Microsoft already available, Nintendo is probably feeling the pressure to update its own hardware.

While the Switch remains successful, so was the Wii, and that didn't stop Nintendo from putting that into retirement five years after its launch. What I assume is that we'll get a Super Switch for the hardcore crowd, and that the Switch Mini becomes their economically priced handheld. Games that relied on the big Switch's exclusive features (IR camera, HD rumble) will dry up, much like how 3D stopped being a "thing" in 3DS games when the 2DS arrived.

(That IR camera, sheesh. What uses that? What was the point of that? It's about the most superfluous feature since the Vita's dumb back touch panel.)

This is absolutely what I am hoping. I want this to be a true upgrade, not a "New" version of the old hardware.

This is one hill I'll die on! That back panel was fantastic. Great way to do touch screen without your finger covering everything up, plus you could assign button functions to them on things like the PS1 emulator.
I could never get inputs reliably on it. Buttons would've been preferable

Everything gets a remaster or a revival at this point. Someone thought we wanted a Switch version of Night Trap, so we got that. There are even remasters of lackluster mascot games like Legend of Kay and Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, because... uh, help me out here.

E3 2022: Soul Blazer revival
I can get behind this. Followed by IoG and Terranigma. And if we're feeling really spicy, The Granstream Saga, which I finally finished this year.

I know this probably won't be a popular opinion, but I actually liked Legend of Kay a lot. Starts pretty slow, but I think it turns into a really fun game. (I played on PS2.)
