If you're on Windows and logged in as BEAT, you'd open C:\Users\BEAT\AppData\Local\Valdis_Story_AC\vs_set tings.ini, and you'd change some lines to some spoilery values:
Sadly, this will only give you those weapons on a new game. To add them on your current save, you'd have to find the right file (easy if you only have one). They're in the same directory and named vvv?.dat. The fourth letter has something to do with the save slot, but heck if I know how they're related. Once you've found your save file, edit the following lines (this is for Wyatt, but you do the math for the other characters):
The save files are all really obviously easy to screw with, since they're basically in plain English plus numbers, but you might not want to do that?? I dunno, seems risky. |

reading BEAT's hijackd infodump, I think I would lovelovelove to see a Dwarf Fortress LP from him. However, knowing what I know about him, I don't think he could be arsed to play a game that's so... let's say, cerebral.

This LP has inspired me to pick the game back up and play through Vladyn and Gilda's stories.
Really good game. I think the only big complaint I still have is that rank-based rewards are dumb and counter-intuitive. Well, also that Swift Steps seems a little too vital to bury in one of the skill trees. Most of the others have actually been fixed since I last played, though. |

I don't know if I'm futilely trying to send advice back into the past, but, FYI:
1) BEAT still has Hurricane Rage equipped. 2) He probably really wants to go back to Mr. Afro-samurai McDouble-Jump to pick up that combo extender. 3) He can probably afford that Master's Scroll in Hrukk now. That or go pick up one behind a wall; I can't recall which one he's missing, but I think he can have 3 skill cancels now. |

Watching BEAT in this video reminded me that Hrukk is a real pain to navigate. It's just way too... dense. I too always kept stumbling into Vladyn's recovery room when trying to look for that vendor or the save statue/exit.

Amusingly, I also stumbled into the later boss that appears in the same room, the big jellyfish thing when I absolutely was not expecting it, and that proved to be a lot harder. |

Magus can be a real pain for builds that rely on self-buffs, since she can vacuum them off of you.
BEAT is coming up on probably my least favorite non-optional boss in the game (Treu). Have fun! |

I've been playing a lot lately, and Treu is a lot less obnoxious than he used to be. He spends a lot more time on just the first two levels and a lot of his BS is able to be interrupted.
Also, I usually go after Magus right after (or before) I reach Ishk. I don't think she's any more difficult than Dhistahn. |

This game looks really nice but also looks like a giant frustrating pain in the butt to play. Like somebody said in the video - you could really use some mercy invincibility. Or a combo breaker mechanic which isn't buried deep in the game or the skill tree. Of course, my perception might be colored by BEAT's... less than cautious approach to playing.
Maybe I'm mis-understanding but are you saying "if you don't use these things then this thing is the best because it charges quickly"? |

Focus Finishers drain your Focus Meter, which is used for Focus Mode. The amount required to enter Focus Mode is determined by the finisher you have equipped. Certain builds benefit a lot more from Focus Mode than the actual finishers, so a finisher that has a quick charge time is desirable.

I think there's a happy middle ground, even against the optional bosses. I forget which finisher I opted for, but it was reasonably cheap.
Man, I wish I'd known about the health charm hat. A bunch of extra HP would have helped against some of those bonus bosses. :-/ When I saw how quickly the hats fall off, I ignored them, because I presumed they were all temporary bonuses, which a health charm is decidedly not. Honestly, though, what I found most disappointing about the hat mechanic is how the hats float awkwardly above your head instead of being worn. I wanted to play dress-up. :-( |

I love the Bloodletter Crest, but I was a bit disappointed that there weren't really any interesting accessory decisions for me to make. As soon as I found it, I bought it, since it was obviously amazing for my build (Agi++/Str+), and it stayed glued to me for the rest of the game.

ETA: I'm mystified by the reaction to the "cut-scene" nature of the black hole summon animation. I genuinely never noticed it (or, if I did, it didn't make enough of an impact for me to recall it). Last edited by JBear; 01-20-2017 at 03:37 PM. |
