Even in a let's play, F.O.E.! Let's Play Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City!
Hello! I've been playing a lot of EO recently, so I decided to jump into the one I've not really had any experience with yet, since there's no Untold version of this one (yet). Anyway, let's get right into it! We've got a lot of things to be voting on, so let's start with the main one: our guild name (9 8 characters)! Make it a good one! Once we've got that squared away, we also have to assemble said guild! We've got ten classes to choose from, and five slots to fill! Here's a list of 'em! (As a general note, blame the Etrian Wiki for the inconsistent look of the classes.) 1) The Prince/Princess! Those of royal blood from kingdoms large and small. Their orders raise morale to turn the tide. Supporting combatants on either line. 2) The Gladiator! Courageous and strong, they eschew armor and display their trained bodies and fight with swords and hammers. Vigorous attackers of the front line. 3) The Hoplite! Their golden armor gives them unequaled defense, while their spears provide a strong offense. Defense specialists on either line. 4) The Buccaneer! These descendants of pirates learned to fight in gangs, supporting each other rather than dueling. Cooperative attackers of the front line. 5) The Ninja! They hide in shadows and use the art of ninpo, the advanced practice of which can create duplicates. Special attackers who work on either line. 6) The Monk! With the power of qi, they can both heal and inflict wounds. Their bare hands are stronger than weapons. [Turtle's note: I'll believe it when I see it.] Healing specialists of either line. 7) The Zodiac! Scientific magicians who manipulate the etheric energy of the stars. Highly valuable in battle. Elemental attackers of the back line. 8) The Wildling! Their rapport with beasts gives them command over many animals. Some can even control lions. Beastly summoners of the back line. 9) The Arbalist! Experts in giant bows and cannons as big as they are, the fire-power they provide is a worthy asset. Long-range attackers of the back line. 10) The Farmer! These farmers seek to apply their wisdom to navigating the Labyrinth despite their clumsiness in battle. Exploration specialists of the back line. Alrighty, that's all of them! If everyone could create one character, giving me a name (9 characters), a class, and a portrait, we'll see about assembling a team from there! Also, I think we get a boat to name, maybe? Someone should confirm. Regardless, give suggestions, and if we do, great! I am generally only going to be updating on Sundays, because I'm going to be busy with five thousand other things on any given week. EDIT: I should have a list of submitted characters, I guess! Code:

Sounds good. Never did get a chance to try this one.
As far as a character, it looks like you couldn't go wrong with a Hoplite! I'd go with the second portrait from the left (dude w/ the spiky shield; not too crazy about the rest), and call him Alexander. The original Greek the name's derived from means "defending men"! Also, some of my favorite games involve folks with spears (like Hoplite for iOS!). |

This is my favorite EO. Best setting & I like the classes so much more than the standard jokers. I don't even want to hear about super nit-picky balance issues from an awful nerd!
Hmm only one character huh? Oh well. Farmer, portrait 1, name: (a)sheep(does)bite. |

I don't even know EO3's balance, so you'll probably not see much of that from me.
Also, I added a submission list to the OP, so people can keep track of who's submitted what. Don't forget to vote for guild (and possibly boat) names! |

It's fine but some people think it's bad because of some endgame builds or whatever.

I nominate a Buccaneer using the 2nd girl portrait (the one that's a girl, not the cleavage lady). Her name can be Penny.
When I played through this I had a guild named Jack Bros. with Jack Frost, Frost Ace, Black Frost, King Frost and Pyro Jack. |

Oh good, someone suggested a pirate.
You should also use an arbalist, because giant crossbows are the best. I think when I played I used the alt palette of the 3rd arbalist, but your call, because all the arbalists are excellent. Call them Jann because reasons. |

I meant the girl. Was doing a Custom Robo theme in my game and called her Mira. But for real, basically every arbalist portrait is great, so go with who you think looks coolest.

Gladiator portrait 1 alt color named Gregor.
This is my most favorite EO and it's a lot to do with the fact that Glad is my favorite class in anything ever. E: Also ain't gonna lie, I feel really tempted to set up my own LP of this for once you're done so I can show off some of the more entertainingly broken aspects of this game. I also thought that the game was fun both with my normal beat the game party, and then the all-new party I had to make to clear all the ultimate postgame stuff. Normally I hate that in EO games... though it helps that 3 has a method to make catching up really easy.

How long can the names of things be, because "Even in the guild name, F.O.E.!" has a nice ring to it

Guild name: Stylus
Also, can I second the prince named HappyJack? That sounds like a guy who should be in our guild. |

If that name fit, though, I'd totally take it, regardless of what people voted for. :P Last edited by aturtledoesbite; 08-16-2015 at 05:14 PM. |

Well, if you can't use any punctuation or symbols... I can't think of another good variation on that for now.

Punctuation and symbols do exist, in fact. Here's the keyboard they give you.
However, it has come to my attention that I miscounted. The guild's name is limited to eight characters. |

I kind of want to suggest the Princess Bribe themed team I used when I played this one (Buttercup the Princess, Westley the Buccaneer, Inigo the Gladiator, Fezzik the Hoplite, Max the Monk, Rugen the Zodiac, Farm Boy the Farmer), but instead I'll just vote for a Gladiator #1 of any name and a Pirate #4.
