Default Failing at being clever? It must be Foxeris' video LPs

Just a quick thread to talk about the video LPs I have been doing, which can be found on my youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/MrFoxCutter

(Why "Mr" Fox Cutter? Because I created a Fox Cutter account to share some videos, then deleted it, and you can't reuse account names).

I have two currently running LPs. First off is the main one the channel is built around Adventures in a Cubic World. This is a Minecraft LP, which I've been running since October of last year.

And to be current, here are some links to the first and most recent episode.

Episode #01 - Up a Tree
Episode #95 - Make it Pretty

The second series is Sam & Max, which is a LP of the Telltale Sam & Max video game series. This one just started so it's easy to keep up with!

Sam & Max Episode 1
Sam & Max Episode 2
Sam & Max Episode 3
Sam & Max Episode 4

I have plans for some old DOS games as well, but we'll see when that may happen.

Turns out he's not that clever?

Since you made the thread I thought I'd comment. I've just gotten to about video 30 of Cubic World. The whole Nether portal thing has me confused but I imagine it will make sense eventually.

Which part has you confused? I would be happy to answer any questions you might have.

You used your portal and when you came back you didn't end up where you went in. You're trying to fix that somehow. You make it sound like a bug in the game or something.

Does that still happen? I've never messed around with the Nether (then again I have yet to find diamonds, so...)

It's just an odd flaw in the way it works out where to put the portal in the nether. Thanks to rounding it can end up just a hair too fair away so it doesn't like back to the old portal. I don't know if it's been fixed or not yet, but it it's still a pain. Still, once you have the portal connected it makes moving around the map easier.

I have to admit, I'm still kind of reeling from it all. I've gone from 35 subs to 250 and every time I look at my e-mail I have a few new ones. I'm getting a lot of positive comments, both for helping Guude and for the quality of my videos. Suddenly I have all the exposure I could ever want, it's going to be hard not to freeze up for the next video.

It just boggles my mind, I never imaged anything like this would acutely happen. I was just trying to help, cause it never hurts to help (and heck, it was just petty cash really). So I guess this is an example of instant karma? I don't know, I'm still kind of processing it all.

Oh, and because people do ask, Foxeris is my first name, I just go by Fox for short. (The full name is Foxeris Ryoga Cutter, really).

Whos this Guude guy? I'm guessing if his influence is enough to get you A TON of subs that he's someone important?

He's GuudeBoulderFist on Youtube and is one of the big names in Minecraft LPs and has like 70k subscribers.

So having Guude plug my LPs is like--to quote my roommate--like having Joss Whedon plug my home movies.

Indeed! I'm not quite sure how to handle it other then just doing things the exact same way. On the other hand it should make my plans for the Episode #100 bonus easier to pull off!

I noticed you're at 99 episodes of Cubic goodness. Any big plans for the 100th?

(... I really need to watch more of this)

Probably obvious since I've been commenting on the videos themselves but I've been watching quite a bit. I've been enjoying watching your base grow (you just brought back like 20 pigs to your underground field).

Hey, you might have noticed that I wanted to join in on your festivities. I'm going to record my RFW escapades and upload it or possibly the highlights to my channel.

I saw that! Right now I'm tying to work out a time that won't be to bad, but I fear I'm not going to be able to include everyone.

Oh, the top of the world base. That was a fun one. I've seen your comments, and thank you so much for them!

So, for the RFW game next weekend, is it going to be a 1v1, 2v2, 4v4, or what?

EDIT: I downloaded the map, and recorded a short tour of it, as well as my trying to solo-challenge the game. It didn't go so well. I'll edit it and upload it shortly.

I'm kinda sad you didn't keep building near that NPC Church you found.

What exactly is a Race for the Wool? You mentioned it and apparently thats a thing you're doing for episode 100... I'm up to about episode 58 now.

Check my latest video. I tour the map. The basic idea is you have to run out in to the lane, fetch the wool, and bring it back to the victory monument before the other team.

Well, it looks like it will be 4v4 (or maybe even 5v5) based on the number of people who signed up, but it comes down to who shows up in the end.

Block update tricks are always fun, it's kind of the core idea of a BUD (Block Update Detector) switch... though I've never quite gotten one to work.

When you built the Zombie trap near the tower, you said that you wished it had come up on the nearby island.

Is it possible to actually build an island on top of it?

Also, how much Mossy Cobble do you have? I don't think you ever harvested it all from all your spawners, but if you have...
