I accidentally missed it way back at the beginning of the LP; normally if you already have it, Mei will just give you a Life Armband here. I actually like the way it turned out, though; it's a bit more touching when Mei gives you her pendant instead of some random accessory you likely already have.

Cort has over 65,000 HP, which is more than any other enemy in the game, even Lapis. He (it?) has paper-thin defenses and never blocks to compensate, but it could still be a long fight if you let it.

This is bad, because all of Cort's attacks deal tons and tons of damage. His physical combos only go up to four hits, but those arm-faces of his can deal upwards of 2,000 damage. Any HP-or-defense-increasing accessories will help here.

Be sure to keep your party's HP up at all times; bringing lots of Healing Berries is a good idea.

Blue will be the main damage-dealer in this fight thanks to the War God Icon, with Ruby wearing the War Soul to provide support damage. Umber will mostly be healing dudes and using a Miracle Art when he can. You should be able to chew through Cort's HP pretty effectively with this or a similar setup.

Cort will use Ultra Charge in preparation for his strongest move. You'll definitely want to use Spirit the turn after he does this.

If you don't use Spirit, I'm pretty sure that Final Crisis will K.O. your entire party (at least, it does if memory serves). It still deals almost 1,500 damage even when we do block it, so it's in your best interest to heal yourself after the attack.

Luckily, Cort always goes last, so you don't have to worry about him attacking before you can use Spoon or a Healing Fruit.

Unblocked, Doomsday will deal almost 2,500 damage, while blocking it will deal around the same amount as a blocked Final Crisis. Doomsday is actually worse than that attack, though, since there aren't any warning signs for it. He'll start spamming it every other turn (unless he uses Ultra Charge/Final Crisis again) until you beat him, so keep on the offensive as much as possible once you see it.

That's okay. We don't need to use any Memory Statues anymore. We'll just remember our experiences ourselves.

Well... tough luck, man. We have to make our own way, now.

Blue: You want to rely on the Seru?
Gate guard: H-Hey, I was just joking! I am fed up with Seru! Besides, now that the Seru-Kai has been destroyed, there won't be any more new Seru, anyway. By the time we have grandkids, the Seru will just be the stuff of fairy tales and bedtime stories.

Worker: We're going to build a new Rim Elm, with our own hands. Building houses is hard work, but it feels great!

Well, I think I can pretty definitively say that this village will never be meat-fused again.

Blue: Don't be stupid!
Hunter: Yeah, you're right! Ha, ha! The town being swallowed up like that? That'll never happen again! Don't worry! By the time you get back, the village will look so good you won't even recognize it!

Old man: When you were young, I used to tell you all about what the world was like before the Mist came. But now you know far more about the outside world than I do! I've got a new lease on life now, though, so I'm going to learn as much as I can!

There's no New Game Plus, and there aren't any sidequests that have opened up now that the credits are rolling.

It kinda bums me out, really...

Because it means I don't get to update this thread anymore.

I didn't do this by myself, though; I had some help along the way. I'd like to thank the following people for helping to make this LP possible:

First, BSauls and Lord Foul for writing these two FAQs, without which I might have had to spend more time grinding than I would've liked, and asukacrystalrose for putting the soundtrack on YouTube.

K73SK, for making this fansite, without which I wouldn't have known the HP of the bosses; it also helped with some miscellaneous information, like the item locations for the last few dungeons. He even helped me out during my emulation troubles.

ASephiroth for a low-level strategy for the Lapis fight, eightfold for showing the trick to kill that boss instantly, and Sdawkminn for beating the Master-rank tournament so I didn't have to.

And, last but not least, I'd like to thank you guys for taking the time to read the LP.

Without your support, I might not have been able to finish this. Even when I unintentionally went on hiatus for a month, you guys still took time out of your day to read the thread and watch all the damn videos I made. For that, you have my sincere thanks.

As for future LPs, I have a couple ideas. I'll definitely do the sequel, but I'll have to play it first, and I have a few more games I want to LP in the meantime, so that'll be a while off. My next project will probably be Breath of Fire, since I've already reserved it (Thanks, Tefari!), but after that? Well, you'll just have to wait and see.

I think I'll wait on starting Breath of Fire for a while, though; I believe I've earned a break after all this. I'd say a month or so should be good, but who knows? Until then, thank you all for indulging some nerd on the internet while he spent way too much time and effort talking about a video game he likes. You've been a great audience.

Until next time, this is Soren Highwind, signing off. Thank you for reading.
