There's a lot of weird creatures roaming around Arkham these days, but with Darrell Simmons calling the shots, they better not blink. |

The characters have been drawn, check your boxes. Also, to help influence your decisions, here is our Ancient Evil for the evening:
That's right, boys and girls: The Masks are in play. These five are all Endless, which means they are not claimed as trophies when defeated. They are instead immediately put back in the Crown Royal Bag o'Baddies and can come back out whenever a new monster is drawn. They all have special rules, and they are all straight-up motherfuckers. Starting load-outs will be generated as soon as all characters are present and accounted for. I will be posting my own choice last. Let's get this show on the road! |

Prodigious prestidigitator...
has felt the shifts in the aether and knows that soon he will be called to arms. So Nyarly eh? Somehow even though there are only 5 of them in a bag full monsters the Masks ALWAYS seem to get pulled in games with him. I guess on the flip side his In Play ability is one of the weakest (oh no, CULTISTS have Endless, what ever shall we do.) |

Name's Joe Diamond. I've got six slugs in me, five are bourbon and keep me loaded. The last one's steel and I keep it loaded. I'm a private eye.

You know, I believe it just might be. That is AWESOME. =)
I forgot to ask, post your starting stats so I can put them on the starting character sheets. Here is a simple template: Character Name: Speed: Sneak: Fight: Will: Lore: Luck: |

I probably won't do much fighting in this game. If Dexter wants to share his magic with me, I think I could do a lot more. Can you trade spells?

Darn it, forgot to check and here I am. I'll sit out this one (not like I have a choice, buuuuuuuut).

An idle though, this is something that always bugged me: Why are Fight and Will opposed? Doesn't the will to fight count for something? I've always thought it should have been Fight vs Lore (brains vs brawn) and Will vs Luck (the determination to make things happen vs floating your chances on the wind).

Being able to max Will AND Fight would make you quite powerful against the monsters.

The Fight/Will thing makes sense to me, as a physical strength vs. mental strength sort of thing. Like how the little guy keeps getting up, while Mr. Big'n'Beefy doesn't have anything else to fall back on. Lore/Luck also makes sense, in that Lore is not intelligence, it's the amount of information you have. Knowledge vs. Intuition is a popular duality.

You can indeed. You can trade Spells, Commons, Uniques, and Money, but not Clues, Allies, Skills, or Trophies.

I played Mansions of Madness the other day as Ashcan Pete. If he gets devoured I will be VERY upset.

Something I can't remember reading, is this going to be a pure basic box game? The primary reason I ask is because I remembered 'Be On the Winning Side' or whatever it is would be the most amazing 'fuck you' ever, in the event you even let it be in the decks. =p By the by, if you're a tremendous dork like I am the proper degree of rotation to get the photo of your character to line up correctly is exactly 10 degrees to the right. I guessed and got it right on my first try! |

It appears the Arkham Horror Wiki you are giving all the links to has become a 404 errors.

I have no idea how long that site is going to be down for, I truly hope it is only temporary. In the interest of preparing for the worst, I'm going to transcribe the print on all the cards while still building links. This will take longer than planned, so please be patient with me.

Joining the Winning Team
if I read correctly, you need to sacrifice FOUR allies, in four locations, to pull it off? And Allies are kind of hard to come by in the first place. Last edited by eternaljwh; 04-12-2011 at 01:03 PM. Reason: add link, correct name |

Thank the gods the site is back up. I still have all of the card text transcribed, but now I won't have to use my scanner for all the monster tokens.
Also, there are no Missions in the base game, so no need to worry about that. |
