Shit, man, it's like Eternal Darkness all up in this game.

Eternal Darkness did the three-quest thing very nicely, though, as the rune order and zombie types actually meant quite a bit for your playstyle. I'm...not sure that could be said here.

No, no it cannot. Here it's like trying to play on an emulator with the speed jacked up, except YOU still move normally.
A comparison video of a single stage sounds like a reasonable way to showcase this, and I've got nothing significant to do tomorrow, so I'll have a post up soon barring any further technical problems. I'll be going with Egypt, as there isn't that much difference in difficulty between stages (once you understand them anyway) but Nari is easily the hardest boss without the full refill they hand you during the second fight. Anything more than that I'll just do by request. |

None of that has much to do with this LP, though. Which is super great, by the way! |

This shows the first room on the first and second quest, then continues with the third.
Egypt - 3rd Quest -When the third quest starts, you'll see how awful the hit detection can be with switches. Luckily this doesn't usually happen with enemies. -A very important tactic for the 3rd quest is to leave items on the screen when you need to prevent something from spawning. Like many old games, the next enemy won't appear until the item left by the previous one is gone. Going up and down stairs almost requires this at times. -Those ghosts at the end are a problem even on the normal game. It was pure luck that I came out of that with as much health as I did. -All that item fiddling upon entering the boss room was from me selecting the Ice Ball out of habit, realizing that I needed to release Cutrus, then trying and failing to do so without wasting an Ice Ball. I mentioned this before, but holding Up and A uses special items, so trying to release Cutrus in the air will also throw a sub weapon if you're still holding A from jumping. |

Oh, uh...I didn't catch where/what the hint scroll was in Ruth?
I assume you're muxing in the music afterwards because you had issues recording sound? Last edited by eternaljwh; 07-23-2011 at 02:07 PM. |

Ruth doesn't have a clue scroll. There were only 7. I assume this is because you don't get a chance to see the list of hints again after entering the House of Ruth.
The issue I'm having is that my sound card will not allow recording software to access the audio output. This is a driver problem, but I've tried installing a few different versions with no luck so I'm not sure what else to do about it. I thought it would also be possible to plug a cable between the headphone output and microphone input and take it from there, but this causes some bad distortion that's caused by either the one cable I have being bad, or from this being a crazy idea in the first place. What I do have is the soundtrack ripped from the rom and Audacity, so mixing it in after was the only quick solution. |

Does that interfere with the emulator's own A/V dumping capabilities?
