Ultros: What If '70s Rock 'n' Roll Art was a Metroidvania?

ShakeWell

Slam Master
(he, etc.)

Anyone else playing this? The art style is enough to keep me in, but the music is good and the systems are unique. Whether that will bother me longterm or not remains to be seen, but I like it so far.

It does look like they played their Hollow Knight all right. Which isn't a bad thing!

Becksworth

Aging Hipster Dragon Dad
Played the Next Fest demo partway. It's was actually pretty different from Hollow Knight from what I played at least mechanically.

In terms of cryptic narrative though it's Hollow Knight cranked up to 11.

I'm super interested, but I've been curious about whether the art style gets in the way of the gameplay (in terms of making it difficult to see what's going on) - I haven't played a demo, only watched the trailer. Can anyone speak to that?

Yeah, this is 100% true. I loved Hollow Knight, but mechanically this is way different from that.

There's definitely some issue with telling background objects from foreground objects because all the art is so vibrant and colorful, but it hasn't caused me any problems taking hits I otherwise wouldn't or anything like that.

Good to know, thanks!
