As I’ve said last time I’ve overbooked myself so I’ll keep this brief. Adrenaline ran a good list! And I think a lot of great villains were accounted for. I think there are definitely some on this list where I hadn’t had the media yet were I might put them on the next time around (Gul Dukat, for example).
I think some people were disappointed the Joker ranked so high and I get it. He was my number too but I feel like we’ve been fed so much of the edgelord “force of nature” version of the character that it’s easy to forget when he’s a more versatile villain (and I love versatile villains) who can be comedic and scary and kinda sad/pathetic and have facets you don’t necessarily think of. And a lot of that impression is thanks to Paul Dini’s writing and Mark Hamill’s performance in Batman: The Animated Series. God, it’s such a perfect mix of dialogue and performance.
But there are no shortage of great villains out there. Thinking about the ones I want to speak of this week, it’s tough, I can think of so many! What are some great villains you think didn’t make the list?
