This drives me nuts. It happens almost every single time my PS4 has to update the system software and it always requires a bunch of finagaling around with Safe Mode to fix. My ps4 is only a couple of years old and has no cause to be so fussy.
If you don't know about this, it's an issue where when the ps4 updates its system software, instead of restarting after the update like it's supposed to it just shuts down. And stays shut down. If you turn it back on the screen locks up on an error message that you can only get rid of by force shutting down the system again, and then rebooting it in safe mode and running the update again, which usually fixes the problem but it's a real pain.
If anyone out there knows something about this issue and how to prevent it, I'd love to know. Google has been remarkably unhelpful aside from fixing it after it happens. I'm afraid of it bricking my system completely one day.
