elementary my dear baxter
It's not a terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad problem because the fix is easy if time-consuming, but most of the time when my PS4 software updates, it'll go through most of the rigamarole of the update, but at the time that it needs to do the final reset, instead of restarting, the system will simply turn off permanently.
At this point if I try to turn it back on I get a message about "An Error Has Occured" with a googleable code and the system is completely locked up. The only way to fix things is to force a shut down, then boot into safe mode to run the update again or rebuild the database or whatever (last night I redid the update). Once all that is done it starts again normally with no issues.
But still, it bothers me how often this happens. The system is barely a year old. Anybody know any tips to stop this problem from happening in the first place?
